The ten-year closed at 5.01%, its first five-handle close since 2007, and the Nasdaq-100 bullish-percent count fell to 33.66, its April-low reading, the day before the Fed decides. Tuesday's US cash close was S&P 500 7,585.73 (−0.45%), Nasdaq-100 28,937.84 (−0.65%) and VIX 17.20 (+0.58%, high 18.03), with Brent November settling $108.75 (+2.9%) — the highest settlement of this leg — and the ten-year printing 5.041% intraday. At 06:37 Singapore (18:37 New York, post-close) the Nasdaq-100 CFD was 28,989 (+0.18%), the S&P CFD 7,598.3, the October VIX future 18.48 and Brent 108.48. The Saudi East-West pipeline remains shut with repairs now described as taking several weeks, four commodity vessels transited Hormuz on Monday, and the Fed's decision prints at 14:00 New York with a quarter-point hike priced at roughly 93%. Every chart reading here is a fresh 15-September print; the retail-sales release was not verifiable at capture and is flagged.

The Nasdaq-100 did not bounce to its lids; it fell away from them. The cash opened at 29,100 — the base case's opening range to the point — and the first hour's high, 29,142.80, stopped thirty-five points short of the 50/100-day cluster at 29,178–29,188. From there the tape sold to 28,899.43, thirty-one points over Monday's low, and closed at 28,937.84, under both of the levels Monday's issue had named as support: the filled remnant top at 29,038 and the drawn floor at 28,972. The daily Bollinger band floor sits at 28,923, fifteen points under the close. No gap printed; the session was inside Monday's range. The daily stochastic (31/39) has not turned.
The S&P lost its 50-day on a close and finished on its band floor. After holding the 50-day by ten points on Monday, the S&P closed at 7,585.73, twenty-five under it, and eleven under the floor of the 4-August gap band at 7,600.5. The high of the day, 7,617.26, went four points into the 10-September gap (7,613–7,624) and was sold. The daily band floor is 7,584.33 — the close is 1.4 points over it. The close of the cash session is now the trapdoor on both indices: one more down bar puts each of them under its band.
The ten-year closed with a five-handle. The chart's daily close is 5.01% (open 4.99, high 5.05, low 4.99); the wire recorded 5.041% intraday, the highest since 2007. CNBC carried the intraday print and the close. The two-year did not join it — it stalled at 4.70 on the high and closed 4.67 — so the move came from the long end: the thirty-year printed 5.40 and closed 5.37. The bank index closed under 185 for a second consecutive session (183.85, low 181.44). The dollar index closed at 99.62, over the 99.5 line that licenses the gold short on the dollar side.
The count met its April analog and the summation met its April low. The Nasdaq-100 bullish-percent index closed at 33.66 (open and high 37.62, low and close 33.66): the bar closed at its low, four more members lost their point-and-figure buy signals, and the reading is under the 35 line this framework drew from the April war low. The Nasdaq McClellan summation closed −320.40, through the −300 the same analog marks. The NYSE high-low index made a thirteenth consecutive sub-50 print (24.95) with new lows expanding for a seventh session; advance-decline was negative all day (−903, best print −272); the Nasdaq-100 advance-decline percent closed −46.53, a reading under −40 that escalates the cascade tell this framework confirmed on 9 September. Sixty-six of a hundred members are under their own 50-day averages.
Brent settled at the leg's high. November closed at $108.75, up 2.9%, the fifth consecutive settlement over $101, after the spot tagged $109.45 for a second session and was rejected by seventy cents at the settle — Monday's rejection was nearly four dollars. West Texas settled $105.83. CNBC's Tuesday piece on the pipeline says the market is running out of safety nets, with global inventories down around a billion barrels; Trading Economics carries the "several weeks" repair estimate; EnergyNow counts four commodity vessels through Hormuz on Monday.
Credit stayed closed and got closer to its leg. JNK fell to 94.30, a new closing low and a fourth verified close under 95. The ladders' credit gate has been closed since 10 September and nothing Tuesday re-opened it. The next line, 94.00, is thirty cents away — the distance of one FOMC-afternoon tick. A verified close under 94 meets the shock path's credit leg and kills every structural long in the book by rule; a verified close back over 95 re-opens the ladders. Neither happened.
The rate gate is over-met, not resolved. A 5.01 close is the twelfth close over 4.70 and the fourth over 4.90; the R16 escalation and the spiral read both stand. What the decision can do is settle the bracket: a post-decision close under 4.94 would be the first sign the bond market believes the hike is the last one; a close over 5.05 would be the sign it does not. The rate leg cannot get more met than it is; it can only be withdrawn, and only the Fed can withdraw it this week.
The oil cap did not step. R14 stays at Step 3, the 20% tactical cap, for a ninth session. The settle governs and $108.75 is $11.25 from the $120 line that would take equity exposure to 10%. The $109.45 chart line has now been tagged twice and rejected twice; a settlement over it would put the step-four watch on. The one oil headline that re-reads every short in the book — a pipeline restart date — did not print; the US Energy Secretary's promised timeframe was not found on the wire and is logged as absent.
Breadth has no repair to report. The bounce arm (NYSE McClellan under −60) is closed by 4.6 points; the countertrend protocol is one leg of three, and its second leg died on Tuesday's render — Monday's 0.84 put-call day-print did not survive revision, the second time in a week a day-print over 0.80 has vanished by the next chart, and the second time the rule that day-prints never arm a leg has kept every short in the book at full size. The Nasdaq McClellan oscillator closed under −40 (−47.53), which restricts momentum shorts on down bars; it does not restrict the structures below, which arm on holding closes.
Every tactical index long stays struck. The headline protocol has been live since Monday's mine claim and Wednesday is not a trigger-free session by construction. A dovish decision that runs the tape to its pivot is expressed through the fades' exit clauses and the structural ladder's rungs, not through a long. This is the cost of the rule and the framework pays it on the days it is wrong.
The decision prints at 14:00 New York with the dots; the chair speaks at 14:30. Fed-funds futures priced a quarter-point hike to 3.75–4.00% at about 93% on Tuesday and over 94% after the close, per Kiplinger and CNBC. It would be the first increase since July 2023. With the hike itself priced, the market reaction is decided by three things the decision carries with it: the dots (in June nine members had at least one 2026 increase and eight had none; the chair withheld his own), the vote (a dissent for fifty basis points reads very differently from a dissent for a hold), and one word in the press conference — whether the chair calls policy "sufficiently restrictive," which is a pause signal, or repeats Jackson Hole's "work to do," which keeps the door open. The framework does not pick among the outcomes. It weights them, draws a structure for each, and trades none of them before the first 30-minute close after 15:00 New York, because the 14:00 bar is the decision and the 14:30 bar is the presser and a bar that contains a binary is a bar this framework does not trade — the 28-August speech bracket that lost 150 points wrote that rule.
Outcome one — a hike with hawkish dots (about 40%). The median dot shows two more increases, the chair avoids "restrictive," and a dissent wants fifty. The ten-year goes through 5.05% on the close; the S&P is already under its 50-day and the Nasdaq-100 is fifteen points over its band floor, so the price response is a break, not a fade. The framework's read: the first 30-minute close after 15:00 that holds under 28,868 arms the deep-break re-arm (Option 01); the S&P through 7,573 arms Option 03, rolling into Option 07's targets if 7,562 is gapped through. The VIX reaches the 18.5–19.5 doorway; at 19 the third countertrend leg fires and every tactical short is cut by two thirds by rule, whatever the framework thinks of the tape. Gold through 4,254 sets up the real-yield short for Thursday's close, not Wednesday's. The shock path goes to 58 on this outcome; the projected close is 28,600–28,850 on the Nasdaq-100 and 7,520–7,570 on the S&P.
Outcome two — a hike with "sufficiently restrictive" (about 45%). The dots show one more at most, the chair uses the word, and the long end believes him: the ten-year closes under 4.94. This is a relief, and relief in a tape whose count is at its April reading is sold at named levels, not bought. The 15:00 close reclaims 29,038; the last hour tests the lost averages at 29,178–29,188. A rejection close there — Wednesday if it prints by 15:30, otherwise Thursday's first hour — fills Option 02. The S&P reclaims 7,611 and tests the eight-line stack at 7,611–7,623; Option 04 sells the rejection at full tactical size, because the bank index's two closes under 185 have armed the rates-banks licence. The VIX goes under 16.79 and the vol-crush short does not trigger. The weights move to D 44 / C 36 / B 16; the projected close is 29,050–29,200 and 7,600–7,640. A weekly close under the 20-week average (29,340) still prints on Friday unless the relief runs four hundred points.
Outcome three — a hold (about 8%). The surprise, and the dangerous one. The front end rallies; the question is whether the long end sells it. A thirty-year over 5.45% on a hold would be the shape Bank of America's "credibility shock" phrase describes — the bond market charging more for the Fed's inaction than it charged for the oil. Equities would gap up on the 15:00 bar toward the two-gap magnet at 29,250–29,334 and the compressed pivot stack at 29,304–29,340. The framework has one structure for that, the structural ladder (Option 08), whose rungs fill at 29,304 and 29,340 and are held: the count is 33.66 and the licence for a structural short does not read the Fed. No long is licensed; a hold that takes the ten-year under 4.90 and the dollar under 99.2 on the close retires the gold short before it can fire. The projected close is 29,200–29,400 and 7,640–7,690; Thursday's count print decides whether the range path recovers weight (it needs the count over 45 — eleven points away) or the relief is sold at the stack.
Outcome four — fifty basis points or balance-sheet action (about 2–3%). The tail. The VIX goes through 21 and the shock path re-arms in full; 28,564 prints on the day. Every tactical short is halved at 19 by the countertrend rule and re-armed Thursday; the R1 cap watch (a sustained VIX over 30) comes on for the first time this leg. The framework does not draw a fresh structure for this outcome because its existing rules already govern it: the halving, the cover-two-thirds, the flat-by-15:30 on Friday.
Across the four, the S&P's projected range is 7,520–7,690, the VIX's 16–20, Brent's 106–111 (a restart date takes it to 101–104 in a session), and the ten-year's 4.90–5.15 — the decision's own bracket, and the number the framework reads first at 16:00.
Path D rises 4 to 50%. Three of the shock path's four legs got harder on one close: rates fully met (the 5.01 close — the input Monday's issue said the framework feared most), oil over-met (a fifth settle over 101 at the leg's high), credit within thirty cents of its line. The fourth leg, volatility, is the decision's to print. The S&P losing its 50-day and the count meeting its April analog on the same close are D's confirmations, not C's. D's honest weakness is that the deep landing at 28,868 held untouched on Tuesday and the VIX did not reach 19: the shock path has printed its inputs and not yet its price.
Path C falls 2 to 34%. The staircase printed its next step on schedule — 29,038 and 28,972 lost on a close with the count at a new low — but a step that prints with a five-handle ten-year close and a new credit low is D's step, and D absorbs the weight. C keeps its shape: 29,038 is the lid, then 28,868, 28,777, 28,564 and 27,753 as a staircase with bounces into the lost averages and the pivot stack sold. Options 02 and 08 are C's expressions.
Path B falls 2 to 12%. The S&P's held 50-day was the last of B's price conditions and it went on Tuesday's close. B's route is now a single sequence: a hike with "sufficiently restrictive" and the long end believing it, followed by a pipeline restart date. Its box is 28,868–29,340 on the Nasdaq-100 and 7,573–7,669 on the S&P, and its floor is seventy points under the close.
Path A holds at 4%. Nothing for A printed. What is still real for A: the August remnant held untouched, the transports held 20,550 a fourth time, the VIX refused the doorway a third time. A needs the count over 60 on two closes (26 points away), 29,972 reclaimed, Brent under $83, a signed Hormuz date, and a Fed that holds without the long end selling it.
Tuesday's map scored four of eight. The Nasdaq-100 opened inside the base case's range to the point (29,100.16 against 29,100–29,200); the S&P closed inside its range by 0.73 (7,585.73 against 7,585–7,635); the VIX closed inside 16.6–17.8 at 17.20, though the 18.03 high exceeded the range intraday; the ten-year closed inside 4.94–5.03 at 5.01. The misses: the first-hour test of the lost averages never happened (the cluster was never touched); the Nasdaq-100 close missed 29,000–29,200 by 62; the S&P never tested 7,640 (high 7,617); Brent missed 104–108 on the settle by 75 cents. The bear alternative's named clause — "a 5.00% ten-year close before the decision" — printed, and its price clauses printed with it (under 29,038; the S&P through 7,592), but its trigger clause did not: the first holding close under 28,868 was missed by 31 points. Claimed as the alternative's clauses, not as a call.
The book. Option 01, the carried Nasdaq-100 short from about 29,000, was −127 at Monday's close and −100 at Tuesday's open. Its reclaim clause (a first 30-minute close over 29,193) did not fire. The sell to 28,899 took its first target at 28,972 for a third (+28); the second target at 28,868 was missed by 31; the remaining two thirds came off at 15:30 by rule at about 28,940 (the 15:00 bar closed inside 28,930–28,950 on the render; the fill is not resolvable to the point), roughly +60. Blended, about +49 on a 0.5% structure. Option 03, the carried S&P short from about 7,600, took its first target at 7,592 for a third (+8), missed 7,559 by 14, and came off at 15:30 at about 7,590: blended about +9. Both are claimed as small gains from structures that were deeply underwater a session earlier, and both carry the same honest note: the level was right and the timing was a day late, and the day is the cost — the same Nasdaq-100 short from its 29,334 trigger would have paid about +396. The v9.82 target re-key rule exists because of Monday and it is not re-litigated on Tuesday.
Option 05, the carried VIX long from about 17.5, is the session's design defect. Monday's re-key placed its first target at 17.32 — under the fill. The spot ran to 18.03 and came back through 17.32, and the rule took a third off there at −0.18. A target under a fill is a stop by another name; the ledger owns the −0.18 rather than pretend the rung was a target, logs the design note, and changes no rule on the eve of a decision. The second target at 18.10 was missed by 0.07 — the second 0.07 miss on the 200-day this leg. Two thirds are open at −0.30 and come off at 14:00 New York whatever prints. Options 02 and 04 were never touched (highs 29,143 and 7,617 against zones starting at 29,168 and 7,662); Option 06's gold trigger held by eight dollars (low 4,261.52 against 4,253.71) while both of its licences came on; Option 07's trigger held by 31; Option 08's first rung at 29,304 was 161 points over the high. None is booked.
Two things cannot be resolved from the daily bars and are stated as such: the exact 15:30 exit prints on Options 01 and 03 (carried within ±20 and ±5 points), and whether any 30-minute bar closed inside the 29,168–29,193 zone (none could have; the high was under it). Under the full-cost doctrine a loss that may not exist is claimed and a gain that may not exist is not; Tuesday produced neither case.

Win probability is the framework's estimate that the first target prints before the stop within the horizon (one day to one week), given that the trigger has fired. It is conditional on the trigger, calibrated to the scenario weights (D 50 / C 34 / B 12 / A 4), the four-outcome Fed bracket above, the structure type's record in the past thirty days (deep-break and failed-repair shorts four of six paid; relief fades four of five; gap-claused fills two of three closed small-positive after being deeply underwater; vol structures two of four), and the trigger's distance from the last print. It is not a backtest. Options at or below 50% are lower-odds, higher-payoff structures and carry the muted pill. The unconventional structures are Option 05b, a conditional post-presser vol-crush short that requires a spike and a reversal in the same hour, and Option 08, the structural ladder held through the decision.

Base case: the morning pins 28,900–29,100 under the first lid at 29,038 and nothing is traded; the vol long comes off at 14:00; the hike prints; the presser bar decides the read. The framework does not choose between the two hike outcomes — 40 and 45 are a coin flip — and treats the 15:00 close as the trigger for both. On the hawkish reading the ten-year goes through 5.05, the 15:00 bar closes under 28,868 (Option 01), the remnant floor 28,777 prints in the last hour, the S&P goes through 7,573 (Option 03), the VIX reaches 18.5–19.5 and the close is 28,600–28,850 / 7,520–7,570. On the restrictive reading the ten-year closes under 4.94, the 15:00 bar reclaims 29,038, the last hour tests 29,178–29,188 and the rejection (Option 02) prints Wednesday or Thursday; the S&P reclaims 7,611 and is faded at 7,611–7,623 (Option 04); the close is 29,050–29,200 / 7,600–7,640. A hold gaps the tape to the pivot stack and fills the ladder's first two rungs; the thirty-year is the tell — over 5.45 on a hold is the long end selling the credibility. The one number read first at 16:00 is the ten-year's close against 4.94 and 5.05.
Base case: the decision week ends with the count at its April reading, the ten-year at a five-handle on closes, and the bypass shut for weeks. Hawkish dots with oil over 108 put the Nasdaq-100 in a 28,280–28,900 range into Friday's quad-witching expiry with the shelf at 28,564 tested and the first weekly close under the 20-week average since April printed at 29,340 — the retired-then-revived call. A "restrictive" hike runs the relief to the lost averages and the pivot stack, where Options 02 and 08 sell it with the count under 45; the 28,868–29,340 box holds through expiry and the weekly close under 29,340 still prints unless Friday reclaims it. The S&P mirrors 7,573–7,669 or 7,507–7,573. Reweighting up needs 29,188 and 29,340 reclaimed on closes, the count over 45, three NYSE advance-decline closes over +800, a "restrictive" hike with flat 2027 dots and a pipeline restart date — the box re-forms above the 20-day and B goes to 22. Reweighting down needs hawkish dots, JNK under 94 verified, a settle over $109.45 and a VIX over 21 — the remnant fails on a close, 28,564 and 27,753 go in the same week, and the S&P reaches gap #7 at 7,399–7,337.
Base case: a ninety-three-percent hike into a tape whose members are at their war-low reading. The battleground is 27,753–29,972 and the tape sits at 27% of it. The September monthly RSI runs 67.26 against the August final of 69.74 and the 77.88 that would invalidate the three-peak thesis — a −1.8% month at the 15th needs a +13% remainder to get there, which is not on any map; the month's shape (a third lower high at 29,656, a close under the September open) is the thesis's description. The dots decide the rate path, the pipeline restarts inside three weeks on Saudi engineering, the counts print a first repair (over 45) in the last week of September from a lower base, and the Nasdaq-100 ranges 28,280–29,450. The R3 band at 26,688–27,170 (the 200-day and the quarterly 5-EMA, 482 wide) is the only zone where structural longs are licensed regardless of the gates — and with the summation at its April-low analog, that terminus read is live rather than theoretical. Up needs the five-condition A parlay; down needs the hawkish hike, a $120 settle, JNK under 94, a China-bank secondary sanction and a ten-year over 5.05 on closes — 27,753 in September and the band tested in October.
Base case: a 26,500–30,000 range with downward drift while the monthly divergence stands, the lower bound the operative one; the R3 band visited once in the fourth quarter and holding; recovery toward 28,500–29,500 only after a signed reopening and a Fed that has stopped. A hiking Fed with one inflation target against a President demanding cuts, a ten-year that has closed with a five-handle, a thirty-year at 5.37%, a Saudi export system on one corridor for weeks, and a frontier-AI industry publicly asking itself to slow down are the inputs; the six-month tails are 32,000–33,500 on a peace dividend with disinflation and a credible pause, and 24,500–26,000 on a China-bank sanction, a $120 transit, a hike into a jobs contraction and an AI-capex pause the hyperscalers confirm in October. Year-end is conditional on the 30 September monthly close: base is a Q4 low near the R3 band and a recovery toward 28,500–29,500 if September's hike is the last and both the strait and the pipeline re-open on dates. A monthly close with the RSI over 77.88 is the only invalidation of the thesis.
Tuesday's closes, the 5.041% ten-year print, the $108.75 Brent and $105.83 WTI settlements and the 94% hike pricing are from CNBC's market coverage; the 93% FedWatch reading, the 3.75–4.00% target and the July-2023 reference from Kiplinger's live FOMC page; the June dot-plot composition and the chair's withheld dot from REX Shares' decision preview; the "sufficiently restrictive" watch-word from TIO Markets; the pipeline capacity, the inventory drawdown and the "safety nets" read from CNBC's Tuesday oil piece; the "several weeks" repair estimate and the Iran negotiating position from Trading Economics; the four-vessel Hormuz count from EnergyNow; the credibility-shock warning from BigGo Finance. The August retail-sales release was not verifiable at capture and is carried as [web n/a]. Every index, breadth, rate, gold and volatility reading is from the 15-September chart set (Core_Charts_20260916.pdf, Gen 3, 55 of 55 core charts resolved by manifest label); the 06:37 SGT quotes are from the Live_Prices_20260916.xlsx backfill (the JSON path was not attached); the AAII and NAAIM prints are carried from 10 and 9 September and are not presented as Tuesday prints.
Tuesday did not repair anything and did not break anything either — it moved every gate a notch the wrong way and left the decision to do the rest. The Nasdaq-100 fell away from its lost averages without touching them and closed fifteen points over its band floor; the S&P lost its 50-day and closed on its own. The count met its April analog, the summation met its April low, credit made a new low thirty cents from its line, the ten-year closed with a five-handle, and oil settled at the leg's high with the bypass shut for weeks. The shock path is modal at 50 with three legs met; the fourth is volatility and the Fed prints it at 14:00. The tactical line is simple: nothing before the first 30-minute close after 15:00 New York, then the deep breaks under 28,868 and 7,573 on a hawkish reading or the fades at 29,178–29,188 and 7,611–7,623 on a "restrictive" one, with the ladder resting at the pivot for a hold. The next decision point is the ten-year's post-decision close against 4.94 and 5.05.
