The Nasdaq-100 closed Fed week on its high at 29,644 (+0.67%), the VIX fell to 14.81 and the ten-year closed back on 5.00% — while most stocks fell. Friday's cash close was S&P 500 7,650.50 (+0.17%), Nasdaq-100 29,644.17 (+0.67%) and VIX 14.81 (−4.08%). At 06:36 Singapore Monday the Nasdaq-100 CFD was 29,725.4 (+0.27%), the S&P CFD 7,668.6, the VIX future 17.88, Brent 103.99 and gold 4,377.74. Brent settled $103.87, a third down settle; over the weekend Iran said Hormuz stays shut until its conditions are met and claimed a tanker strike.

The weekly close went to the buyers, and it went at the high. The Nasdaq-100 opened at 29,529.64 — 35 points over Thursday's high, which voided Friday's rejection fade before it could arm — dipped once to 29,371.89, and closed at 29,644.17, within four points of the session's high. The dip stopped four points under the 20-week average (29,375.50) and 66 over the open gap beneath it. The week finished up 0.94% after a 28,753 low on the day of the hike: an 895-point range, closed at the top, 269 points over the weekly line Friday's issue named as the test.
The S&P did the opposite shape and the same result. It opened on its high at 7,657.17 — to the point on the 30-minute 200-average and two under the 20-day — was sold to 7,610.52, one point under Thursday's low and seven under the 50-day, and recovered to close at 7,650.50, up 0.17% and eight under the 20-day at 7,658.89. For the week it lost 0.08%; the Dow lost 1.7%.
Volatility finished the job Thursday started. The VIX closed at 14.81, on its low, 0.42 inside the war gap this tracker has carried open since 8 September (14.58–15.22; the remnant is now 14.58–14.80). It is under every daily average. The front future is 17.88 — a 20.7% premium, for a second session the widest class of basis in the leg.
The count moved. For eight sessions the Nasdaq-100 bullish-percent count fell or stood still; on Friday it rose 2.97 to 35.64 — three members regaining buy signals — and ended its run under 35 at three. It matters because Friday's issue set "the count over 36" as the condition for the bull alternative, and it missed by 0.36. And September's monthly RSI is now 70.13, over the 69.74 August final for the first time this month.
Breadth — outside those three names — got worse. Fifty-eight of the Nasdaq-100's members fell on a day the index rose 0.67%; its advance-decline percent was never positive and closed at −16.83, and its new-highs-less-new-lows turned negative on a week-high close. The S&P's count fell to 38.00 and its share of members over their 50-day to 28.80 — both new lows. The NYSE high-low index fell 3.38 to 21.63, the largest one-day drop of a sixteen-session run. NYSE advance-decline closed at −905, which resets the three-close repair count Thursday had started (Thursday's +877 was also revised on the chart to +829). Bloomberg's line for the day was that most S&P 500 firms fell while chipmakers carried the index. One thing cuts the other way and is logged as such: the high-low index's RSI is 12, under the 15 this framework treats as a bounce condition.
The rate gate went back where it started. The ten-year opened at 4.94%, printed 5.01% and closed at 5.00% after the Bank of Japan lifted its policy rate to a 31-year high and hinted at more. The two-year closed at 4.75%, a new cycle-high close. Thursday's close on 4.94 was not booked as the "under" the rule asks for; Friday's close on 5.00 is not booked as the "over" that re-arms the shock path's rate input. Futures price roughly 55% for a second hike on 28 October.
Credit gave half back. JNK closed at 94.55, down 19 cents — a seventh close under 95, 0.45 from the line that re-opens the structural bids. The banks made a fifth close under 185; the transports a third under 20,550, with a new intraday low for the leg.
The oil cap did not step, and the weekend argued with the barrel. Brent settled $103.87, an eighth settle at or above 101 and the third down settle running; JPMorgan called Gulf flows "surprisingly strong" at about 17 million barrels a day. Against that: Iran's parliament speaker said the strait stays shut until Tehran's conditions are met, Iran claimed a tanker strike on Friday night, Tehran issued a warning on reports Washington plans to resume action, and Saudi air defences intercepted a Houthi missile on Saturday. Nothing is signed. R14 stays at Step 3, the 20% cap, 2.87 from its restore line, and outright tactical index longs stay struck.
Path D falls 4 to 30%. Volatility made a new low for the leg and oil a third down settle. D keeps 30 because the ten-year is back on five with the two-year at a cycle high, the VIX future will not follow the spot, and the weekend's headlines hardened. It re-takes weight on a ten-year close over 5.00, a Brent settle over 109.45, a VIX close over 17.82 or a verified JNK close under 94.
Path C falls 2 to 36% and stays modal. On Friday we placed it at 38 "by default rather than by conviction"; its price shape has now failed two sessions running and its structural expression was stopped. What keeps it modal is that its internals printed again, this time in the broad market rather than the Nasdaq-100. C needs a daily close back under 29,376 before any structural short is re-licensed.
Path B rises 5 to 28%. Its price half is complete: the second close over the 20-week, at the week's high. Its breadth half is not — the count is 4.36 under the 40 that un-caps it. B gives the five back on a holding 30-minute close under 29,376.
Path A rises 1 to 6%. It still needs the count 24 points higher, 29,972 reclaimed, Brent under 83 and a signed date.
The map hit two of five. The projected close was 29,280–29,480 on the Nasdaq-100 (missed by 164; even the bull alternative, 29,480–29,600, was exceeded by 44), 7,600–7,655 on the S&P (hit), a VIX of 15.2–16.4 (missed by 0.39), a ten-year of 4.90–4.98 (missed by two basis points) and a Brent settle of 102–106 (hit). The Nasdaq-100 map has now missed in the same direction twice, and that is named as a pattern, not as noise.
The ladder took its stop. The structural short, blended near 29,360, was stopped at 29,550 — the cash opened 21 points under the stop and traded through it — for −190 points on a quarter-percent, about 0.16% of book. Its own 16:00 clause would have closed it at 29,644; the stop saved 94 points, and that is the only kind thing to say about it.
The S&P fade fired through a loophole, and the loss is claimed. Option 04 asked for a rejection close under 7,638 "after a print at or over 7,647", after 10:00. The print was the opening tick. On a literal reading the first post-10:00 bar filled it near 7,625. Its first target, 7,615, printed later (low 7,610.52) — but the sequence is a read of the 30-minute render, so the gain is not claimed; the 15:30 flat near 7,640 is, at −15 on a half-percent. A loss that may not exist is claimed; a gain that may not exist is not.
The rest. Option 02 was voided by its gap clause, which kept the book from a fade that would have lost about 137 points. The pair (Option 07) triggered near 3.862, was flat at 15:30 near 3.866 and is booked as a scratch; its first target printed in the last half hour. Options 03, 05 and 06 never triggered. Gold closed at 4,379, over its trigger, and stayed out because the ten-year did not close under 4.94 — the condition doing its job.
Four rules change with v9.86. A fade's zone print must come after 10:00 — an opening-bar print no longer qualifies. No structural Nasdaq-100 short re-opens until a daily close back under the 20-week. After two straight projection misses in one direction, the 24-hour range is drawn no narrower than the prior session's true range. And market-neutral pairs are exempt from the daily 15:30 flat unless a scheduled binary sits overnight — a change made in the open, with Friday's missed target not back-claimed.

Win probability is the framework's estimate that the first target prints before the stop within the horizon (one day to one week), given that the trigger has fired. It is conditional on the trigger, calibrated to the scenario weights (C 36 / D 30 / B 28 / A 6), the structure type's record in the past thirty days (rejection fades at named lids reached their first target six times in seven, though Friday's paid the book nothing; failure sell-stops four of seven, the last three bought back; carried positions two of six after Friday's stop; vol structures two of six; pairs one scratch in one) and the trigger's distance from the last print. It is not a backtest. Options at or below 50% are lower-odds, higher-payoff structures and carry the muted pill. Three structures are unconventional: Options 06 and 07, a mirrored pair of market-neutral ratio trades of which only one can be open, and Option 08, a two-way gold bracket. Two bounce-side conditions are live — the high-low index's RSI under 15 and a washed-out retail survey — and with outright longs struck they are expressed only through near first targets and the pairs.

Base case: a test of the daily band top from inside the gap. The CFD is 81 points over Friday's close and the framework expects Monday to trade 29,480–29,760 — a range drawn, under the new rule, no narrower than Friday's 276 points — with 29,737–29,758 as the lid and 29,648–29,677 as first support; projected close 29,560–29,740 on the Nasdaq-100, 7,625–7,680 on the S&P, VIX 14.4–15.6, ten-year 4.95–5.04, Brent settle 102.5–106. Step by step: the daily stochastic crossed up hard and the 30-minute RSI is 74, which argues for a first push that tires; the zone overhead is a band top plus an old gap, not a tested lid; and there is no tier-one data, only Fed speakers and a United Nations week. Weight moves toward B on a daily close over 29,758 with the count over 38 — projected 29,760–29,900. It moves back toward C on a holding close under 29,640 after a 29,677 print — 29,552 then 29,488 — and toward D if that comes with a ten-year close over 5.00.
Base case: 29,376–29,907, with the chip gap entered and not filled — its top at 29,972 is the bull path's line — and the 17-September gap at 29,236–29,306 still open underneath. Each of the three cash up-gaps this tracker has logged since 25 August has filled; this one is carried as a magnet, not a date. The S&P works 7,573–7,700. The calendar is about ten Fed appearances, flash PMIs, durable goods, claims and Friday's final consumer sentiment. Earlier issues carried PCE as Friday 25 September; this week's published calendars do not list it, and the date is flagged unverified. Reweighting up: 29,972 on a close, the count over 45, JNK over 95. Reweighting down: a daily close under 29,376 with the ten-year over 5.00 or Brent over 109.45.
The monthly verdict tipped over its line, provisionally. September's RSI is 70.13 against the 69.74 August final, with the month up 0.64%. A close on 30 September over 29,457 with the RSI over 69.74 un-locks September's lower-peak read — it does not invalidate the three-peak structure, which needs a monthly RSI close over 77.88, still 7.75 away. A close under the monthly 5-EMA at 28,967 locks it. Central range 28,753–30,196. Of the bull path's five conditions, three are within a session's move — Brent 2.87, JNK 0.45, the ten-year ten basis points — the count is 24 points away, and the fifth is a signature.
Central case unchanged: a 26,500–30,000 range with a downward drift while the monthly divergence resolves, a hiking cycle the market now prices at two more moves capping the multiple, and a Hormuz reopening as both the largest upside input and the largest sell-the-news set-up for the war-bid assets. Year-end base 27,000–29,500 on the Nasdaq-100 and 7,000–7,600 on the S&P, conditional on the September close. The upside tail (31,000–32,000) needs a signed reopening and disinflation resuming; the downside tail (24,500–26,000) needs stacked shocks — a $120 Brent transit, a credit break under JNK 94 and a third hike.
Friday's session colour — most S&P 500 members lower, chipmakers higher, the ten-year at 5% and the reported Bank of Japan rate check — is from Bloomberg; the Bank of Japan decision and the opening tone from Schwab; the closing summary, the VIX and gold futures from Yahoo Finance; the Dow close from Trading Economics; weekly index and sector changes and the hike odds from Investrade and CNBC; the Brent and WTI settles and the JPMorgan flow estimate from CNBC; weekend developments from ABC News, the AP headlines carried by Britannica and the Straits Daily Brief; the week's calendar from FXEmpire and Kiplinger. Every index, volatility, breadth, rate and credit reading is from Core_Charts_20260921.pdf (Gen 3, 55 of 55 core charts resolved by manifest label), captured Monday 06:15 SGT and dated 18 September (Brent and gold spot charts dated 20 September); live quotes are from live_prices_20260921.json at 06:36 SGT. JNK is a weekly render and its daily change is computed against Thursday's chart close. The live WTI quote reads as the November contract and is not compared with the October settle. The AAII and NAAIM readings are carried from the 17 and 16 September prints, and intraday fill estimates in the ledger are reads of the 30-minute renders; neither is presented as a Friday print.
Friday repaired what was left on the price chart: a weekly close on the high, 269 points over the 20-week, volatility under 15, oil lower a third time, and the first rise in the Nasdaq-100 count in eight sessions. It did not repair the broad market — the S&P's count, its members over their 50-day and the NYSE high-low index all made new lows on an up day — and it put the ten-year back on five. The ladder took its full stop, the map missed the Nasdaq-100 upward for a second day, and four rules change because of it.
