LUBATIX TRADER DIGESTTUESDAY · 22 SEPTEMBER 2026 · MONDAY US CLOSE · THE RECORD RETEST

The Nasdaq-100 Went to the Door of Its High on a 42% Count: Brent Under 101 Restores the Framework's Sizing, the Ten-Year Slips Under Five, and Every Lid the Map Drew Was Run Over — With Zero New Highs Among the Members and a VIX That Rose

Monday's issue drew a test of the band top from inside the chip gap and said the cash open would decide whether the futures' entry was real. It was real, and it was 285 points: the Nasdaq-100 opened over the whole gap, closed 448 over its daily band, 50 over its quarterly band and 298 under the June all-time high — the best day since 4 August, on oil under $101, a ten-year under 5% and a Meta agent that put AMD at a trillion dollars. The map missed upward for a third session, by the largest margin yet, and every short structure was voided or never fired: the book was flat all day. What did not move was the other half of the chart. Forty-two of a hundred members are on buy signals, thirty-eight are over their 50-day, net new highs were zero, the transports fell and the VIX rose. The framework signals a range path that is now modal by its own rule, a Brent settle that restores the tactical cap from 20% to 30%, and a monthly divergence that has just been offered its cleanest retest.

Executive Summary

Overnight in brief

The Nasdaq-100 gapped 285 points to 30,482 (+2.83%), one percent from its June record, as Brent settled under $101, the ten-year slipped under 5% and Meta and the chipmakers ran. Monday's close: S&P 500 7,764.70 (+1.49%), Nasdaq-100 30,482.35 (+2.83%), VIX 14.87 (+0.41%, up on the day). At 06:43 Singapore Tuesday: Nasdaq-100 CFD 30,510.8, S&P CFD 7,766.7, VIX future 17.85, Brent 100.02, gold 4,352.84. Brent settled $100.34 — a fourth down settle, the first under 101 — after Trump said he would "probably" meet Iran's president at the UN; nothing is signed. The Trump–Xi summit falls midweek.

Framework signal

The framework signals a range path modal at 36% by its own rule [the count crossed 40 with a close over 29,656] while the Nasdaq-100 holds above 29,933; a holding 30-minute close under 29,933 restores the rollover's weight.

Called-shot note: Monday's issue said a close over 29,656 with the count over 40 would move weight to the range path — it printed and is applied; the map missed the Nasdaq-100 upward a third time, by 742. Both are in the Honest Ledger.

What Monday Changed

The gap was real, and it was the whole gap. The Nasdaq-100 opened at 29,947.16 — 299 points over Friday's high and 189 over the top of Monday's fade zone, which voided the structure before the first bar closed — never traded under 29,933.22, and closed at 30,482.35, up 2.83%, the largest one-day gain since 4 August. That leaves a new 285-point cash gap at 29,648–29,933, the largest of the leg, with the untraded remnant of the August chip gap and the 13-August band inside it. On one close the index reclaimed 29,972 — the bull path's line — took out all three lower monthly highs of the three-peak structure, and closed 448 points over its daily Bollinger top and 50 over its quarterly. The June all-time high, 30,780.38, is the only line left on the chart above it, 298 points away; Monday's high stopped 223 under it.

The S&P did the same shape at a smaller scale and touched its band. It opened at 7,692.83 — a 34-point gap over Friday's high, now open at 7,657–7,691 — printed 7,779.22, nine and a half points over its daily band top, and closed at 7,764.70, up 1.49%, its best day since 4 August and six points under the record close of 7,771. The Dow gained 0.71% and the Composite closed at a record for the first time since June.

Oil crossed the line that changes the sizing. Brent settled $100.34, down 3.4% with a session low of $98.98 — the fourth down settle running and the first under 101 after eight at or over it. The 101 line is the framework's single-gate restore: the tactical cap moves from 20% to 30%, and a settle back at or over 101 re-imposes 20%. WTI settled $95.78.

The count crossed 40. The Nasdaq-100 bullish-percent count rose 6.93 to 42.57 — seven members regaining point-and-figure buy signals — its first close over 40 since 11 September. Monday's issue set "a close over 29,656 with the count over 40" as the condition that moves weight from rollover to range; both printed. The S&P's count rose to 40.00. The Nasdaq-100 advance-decline percent closed at +54.46, 77 members up and 23 down — the first close over +30 of the run, one of the three the repair count asks for.

The ten-year went under five. It closed at 4.96%, down four basis points, after opening on 5.00. The two-year was unchanged at 4.75%. The dollar rose to 100.41, which keeps the gold-short licence on.

What Monday Did Not Change

The members did not go with the index. On a day the Nasdaq-100 rose 2.83% to within one percent of its record, its net new 52-week highs printed zero and 37.6% of its members closed over their 50-day, with the intraday high of 40.6% sold into the close. Fifty-eight are still on sell signals. The NYSE high-low index fell to 19.70, a new low on the rally day, RSI 11. NYSE advance-decline printed +1,226 and closed at +289 — faded 937 issues, so the three-close repair count stays at zero. Both summation indexes fell again, to −426 and −397. The Transports fell 0.54% to their first close under 20,000, on a day the industrials rose 366. Friday's line — chips against everything else — printed again at three times the size.

The rate gate eased and did not open. The framework books "under 5.00" and it does not book "under 4.94", which is the first-withdrawal line. The spiral read (eight closes over 4.90) stands by six basis points. The gold long licence — a ten-year at or under five — is on; the short licence is off.

Credit gave back a third of what it lost on Friday and stayed under 95. JNK closed 94.71, up 16 cents, an eighth close under 95, now 0.29 from the line that re-opens the structural bids — the nearest of the gates. The banks made a sixth close under 185 (180.17, +0.78%, half the S&P's move with the ten-year lower).

Volatility rose on the rally. The VIX closed 14.87, up 0.41%, after a low of 14.60 that left 0.02 of the war gap unfilled. The front future is 17.85, a 20% premium for a fourth session. An index bought to within a percent of its record with hedges bought alongside it is not the same print as an index bought without them, and the framework carries it as such. The equity put-call closed 0.68 with its five-day average back under its fifty-day.

Nothing was signed. Trump said he would "probably" meet Pezeshkian at the UN and reportedly shelved a Yemen strike; Iran and the US exchanged threats on Sunday; a fuel-storage fire burned at Riyadh's airport on Saturday. Against that, Saudi crude moved through Hormuz at about 2.9 million barrels a day and CENTCOM said flows are at a six-month high with the lanes clear of mines. The barrel priced a conversation neither capital has confirmed. The framework books settles, not headlines: the restore fired on the settle, and the headline protocol — which strikes every outright tactical index long — stays live until a date is signed.

The Four Paths — Reweighted

D · Shock (oil / rates / credit)
24% (30)
C · Structural rollover
30% (36)
B · Range / rotation
36% (28)
A · Bull continuation
10% (6)

Path D falls 6 to 24%. Oil crossed its restore line, the ten-year went under five and the VIX is at a leg low. D keeps 24 because the VIX rose on the rally day with a 20% future basis, the two-year sits at a cycle-high close, credit is under 95 for an eighth session and Sunday's threats were exchanged, not withdrawn. It re-takes weight on a ten-year close over 5.00, a Brent settle back at or over 101, a VIX close over 17.83 or a verified JNK close under 94.

Path C falls 6 to 30% and is no longer modal. Its price shape has failed three sessions running and every lid it drew was run over; the condition that retires it as modal printed on Monday and the framework applies its own rule. What keeps it at 30 is that its internals printed again, on the rally day: a fifteenth and twenty-fifth summation decline, a new low in the high-low index, transports down, zero net new highs. And the monthly divergence — the core thesis — is now in its cleanest form: a retest of the June high with September's RSI running 71.79 against June's 77.88 and a count under 50. C re-takes weight on a daily close under 29,933 with the count under 45.

Path B rises 8 to 36% and is modal. Its price half is over-complete: the chip gap cleared, 29,972 reclaimed on a close, the whole battleground redrawn from 29,236 to 30,780. Its breadth half is still not: the count is 42.57 against the 50 that ends the tier, and the broad measures made new lows. B gives weight back on a holding 30-minute close under 29,933.

Path A rises 4 to 10%. Its price line was taken on a close and one of its five gates fired — a Brent settle under 101. It is capped at 10 by the count (7.43 under 50), JNK under 95, the zero on the new-highs line and the absence of a signature. Only a monthly close with the RSI over 77.88 invalidates the three-peak structure; that number is 6.09 away.

The Honest Ledger

The map hit two of five, and the Nasdaq-100 miss is now a pattern with three entries. The projected close was 29,560–29,740 (the actual, 30,482.35, missed by 742; the bull alternative of 29,760–29,900 was exceeded by 582), 7,625–7,680 on the S&P (missed by 85), a VIX of 14.4–15.6 (hit, 14.87), a ten-year of 4.95–5.04 (hit, 4.96) and a Brent settle of 102.5–106 (missed, 100.34). Friday's rule widened the range to 276 points; the session's true range was 913. The projection was wrong in kind: "a first push that tires" was the framing, and it did not tire.

The book was flat on the best Nasdaq day since 4 August, and that is the correct outcome of the rules. Option 01, the chip-gap lid fade, was voided by its gap clause — the cash open was 189 points over the zone top — and a fade taken at 29,758 would have been run over by 800 points. Options 02, 03 and 04 never saw their levels lost; 05 needed 15.35 and the VIX high was 15.13; 07 needed the ten-year over five; 08 needed a gold close over 4,400 or under 4,323 and got 4,349. Nothing fired, nothing is claimed. The gap clauses exist for this session.

One structure was aligned with the day and did not fire, and that is owned. Option 06, the Nasdaq-over-S&P leadership pair, asked for a pullback to 3.863 before a reclaim of 3.868. The ratio opened at 3.893 and its low, on the 30-minute render, was 3.892: the pullback never came, and the pair sat out a 1.3% ratio day from 3.875 to 3.93. That is an entry-design cost, owned as a miss, not a rule cost. The pair is re-keyed 37 points higher as Option 07.

Two called shots resolved. "A daily close over 29,656 with the count over 40 moves weight from C to B" — printed, and applied. "29,972 is the bull path's line" — taken on a close. "Each of the three cash up-gaps logged since 25 August has filled" — still true, and now the standing observation carries two open gaps under the tape rather than one.

Four rules change with v9.87. After three same-direction projection misses, the 24-hour projected close is drawn as a range centred on the last close with no directional lean, and no narrower than the prior true range — the no-lean rule. The all-time-high fade requires a 30-minute RSI divergence: a higher price high with a lower 30-minute RSI high than the prior push (Monday's was 89), so that the framework is selling a rejection that has already begun to show, not a level. No structural Nasdaq-100 short re-opens until a daily close under 29,933, which supersedes Friday's 20-week line. And the R14 restore is booked: the tactical cap is 30% on the 100.34 settle, and returns to 20% on a settle back at or over 101.

Tuesday execution rule. The tape sits 28 points over a close made on a 285-point gap, one percent from its record; the opening bar is not traded. Every structure arms on the first qualifying 30-minute close after 10:00 New York, and any zone print that qualifies a fade must itself come after 10:00. On the Nasdaq-100 it is a divergent rejection close under 30,684 — with the 30-minute RSI making a lower high than Monday's 89 — or a holding close under 29,933, never both; on the S&P a rejection close under 7,771 or a holding close under 7,691, never both. Nasdaq-100 stops sit outside the band tops and the gap, not inside them. One pair at a time, and this week the pairs are not exempt from the 15:30 flat on Wednesday and Thursday because the Xi summit sits overnight. Gold is a daily-close trigger only. The tactical cap is 30%.

Step 9 — Trade Structures

Leveraged retail sizing. This plan does not prescribe position size in currency. The percentages are book-risk allocations under the framework's 30% tactical cap (R14 single-gate restore, a Brent settle under 101) and the halving rule (Nasdaq summation −426): a "0.5%" structure risks half a percent of book equity between entry and stop, and a leveraged CFD account at up to 200× can express that with a fraction of margin. A trigger gapped through by more than one percent is half size. The rates-banks licence is confirmed (six bank-index closes under 185), which keeps the S&P fade at full tactical size. Nothing is entered on the opening bar.

Win probability is the framework's estimate that the first target prints before the stop within the horizon (one day to one week), given that the trigger has fired. It is conditional on the trigger, calibrated to the scenario weights (B 36 / C 30 / D 24 / A 10), the structure type's record in the past thirty days (rejection fades at named lids reached their first target six times in seven, though the last two were voided by gaps before they could arm; failure sell-stops four of seven, the last three bought back; carried positions two of six; vol structures two of seven; pairs one scratch and one untriggered) and the trigger's distance from the last print. It is not a backtest. Options at or below 50% are lower-odds, higher-payoff structures and carry the muted pill. Three structures are unconventional: Options 06 and 07, a mirrored pair of market-neutral ratio trades of which only one can be open, and Option 08, a two-way gold bracket. Two bounce-side conditions are live — the high-low index's RSI under 15 for a third session and a washed-out retail survey — and with outright longs struck they are expressed only through near first targets and the pairs. A Nasdaq-100 long with a VIX hedge was considered and is not offered: it is an outright index long under the headline protocol, and the protocol has no exception for hedges.

NDX THE ALL-TIME-HIGH BAND FADE — SELL A DIVERGENT REJECTION OF 30,684–30,780
Entry
USTECH CFD, short 0.25% (halving rule; NASI −426) at 30,684–30,780 — the weekly band top 30,684, the June all-time high 30,780 — only on a 30-minute rejection close back under 30,684 after a print at or over 30,700 made after 10:00 New York, AND only if that print carries a lower 30-minute RSI high than Monday's 89 (the v9.87 divergence qualifier). Gap clause: a cash open over 30,780 voids the day; a trigger gapped through by more than 1% is half size.
Stop
30,900 — outside the June high 30,780 and the 30-minute band top 30,892: beyond the last lid, not inside it. No gap sits between the zone and the stop, so it may be carried to the exit box.
Targets
30,482 (Monday's close) · 30,265 (30-minute EMA-14) · 30,061 (30-minute 20-average; the daily band top 30,035 under it)
Win prob.
~44% to 30,482 · ~32% to 30,265 · ~20% to flat (30,061). Conditional on the divergent rejection close; reward-to-risk about 0.9:1 on the first target from 30,684, 1.9:1 on the second, 2.9:1 on the flat.
Why
The June high is the only lid left on the chart, and a retest of it with the monthly RSI six points under June's and the count at 42 is the cleanest print the three-peak thesis has been offered. Under the v9.85 rule the framework sells a rejected high, never strength — hence the divergence qualifier. Odds under half because the tape has closed at or near its high on four of five sessions, the last three over every lid drawn for it, and the map has missed upward three times running.
Exit regardless

NDX THE GAP-AND-GO HANDED BACK — SELL A HOLDING CLOSE UNDER 29,933
Entry
USTECH CFD, sell-stop 0.25% (halving rule) on the first 30-minute close after 10:00 New York that holds under 29,933 — Monday's low and the top of the new 285-point gap #41 (29,648–29,933) — and only after the cash session has traded at or over 30,061 (the 30-minute 20-average). Void on a next-bar close back over 30,061. Gap clause: a cash open under 29,758 means the failure printed overnight — half size, the first target is struck and rolls to the second.
Stop
30,110 — outside the 30-minute 20-average 30,061 and the daily band top 30,035: over the intraday stack, not inside the gap it is selling.
Targets
29,758 (13-August band top; gap #25) · 29,677 (chip-gap floor) · 29,648 (Friday's high = the floor of gap #41: the fill)
Win prob.
~47% to 29,758 · ~40% to 29,677 · ~34% to flat (29,648). Conditional on the holding close after a 30,061 print; reward-to-risk about 1.0:1 on the first target, 1.45:1 on the second, 1.6:1 on the flat.
Why
A level lost, not a level reached. Every cash up-gap logged since 25 August has filled, and Monday left the largest of the leg open under a close made with zero net new highs among the members. The odds are under even because the trigger sits 550 points under the last print and failure sell-stops in the window paid four times in seven with the last three bought back.
Exit regardless

SPX THE RECORD-CLOSE BAND FADE — SELL A REJECTION OF 7,771–7,795 AT FULL SIZE
Entry
US500 CFD, short 0.5% (the rates-banks licence: six bank-index closes under 185) at 7,771–7,795 — the record close 7,771, the daily band top 7,770, the 60-minute band top 7,784 and the August intraday high near 7,795 [render read, ±5] — only on a 30-minute rejection close back under 7,771 after a print at or over 7,784 made after 10:00 New York, with both counts under 45 (40.00 / 42.57 — met).
Stop
7,830 — outside the 30-minute band top 7,821 and the quarterly band top 7,822: beyond both, so it may be carried.
Targets
7,737 (30-minute EMA-14) · 7,708 (30-minute 20-average; the 20-August band 7,700–7,708) · 7,691 (Monday's low = the top of gap #42)
Win prob.
~50% to 7,737 · ~41% to 7,708 · ~33% to flat (7,691). Conditional on the rejection close; reward-to-risk about 0.6:1 on the first target from 7,771, 1.05:1 on the second, 1.35:1 on the flat.
Why
The S&P closed six points under its record close with 31.6% of members over their 50-day, a broad count of 40 and the transports down on the day — the same shape as 13–17 August, which filled its own gap within three sessions. Even odds: rejection fades at named lids reached their first target six times in seven in the window, but this one needs the record to be touched first and the first target is 34 points away.

SPX THE GAP HANDED BACK — SELL A HOLDING CLOSE UNDER 7,691
Entry
US500 CFD, sell-stop 0.33% on the first 30-minute close after 10:00 New York that holds under 7,691 — Monday's low and the top of gap #42 (7,657–7,691) — and only after the cash session has traded at or over 7,708. Void on a next-bar close back over 7,708.
Stop
7,722 — outside the 7-August band 7,710–7,719 and the 20-August band 7,700–7,708: beyond both magnets between the trigger and the stop.
Targets
7,672 (60-minute 20-average) · 7,657 (Friday's high = the gap floor: the fill) · 7,640 (June high / 69-day 7,579 under it)
Win prob.
~45% to 7,672 · ~38% to 7,657 · ~28% to flat (7,640). Conditional on the holding close after a 7,708 print; reward-to-risk about 0.6:1 on the first target, 1.1:1 on the second, 1.6:1 on the flat.
Why
The mirror of Option 03: if the record is never touched, the failure shows up as the gap given back in the cash session. Under even odds because the S&P's gap is only 34 points and the 20-day (7,663) and the 60-minute 200-average (7,685) sit right under the trigger as bids.

VIX THE BOUGHT-WITH-THE-INDEX LONG — BUY A 30-MINUTE CLOSE OVER 15.37 WITH THE S&P UNDER ITS 30-MINUTE EMA-14
Entry
VIX CFD (spot-referenced; the 17.85 front future is not the instrument), long 0.25% on a 30-minute close over 15.37 (the 30-minute band top; over the 20-average 15.00 and the daily EMA-14 15.84 is the next line) after 10:00 New York, with the S&P under 7,737 on the same bar; never on the opening bar.
Stop
14.25 — outside the war-gap remnant 14.58–14.80 (Monday's low 14.60 left 0.02 of it) and under the daily band floor 13.55 is not required: the stop sits under the magnet, not inside it.
Targets
15.69 (20-day) · 16.17 (50-day) · 16.29 (gap #40 floor)
Win prob.
~42% to 15.69 · ~30% to 16.17 · ~24% to flat (16.29). Conditional on the reclaim close with the S&P under 7,737; reward-to-risk about 0.3:1 on the first target, 0.8:1 on the second, 0.9:1 on the flat.
Why
Volatility rose on a day the Nasdaq-100 gained 2.83% — the index was bought with hedges — and the front future still sits 20% over the spot. That is the curve declining to believe the rally, and the framework expresses it only as a reclaim, never a floor. Low odds because volatility structures are two for seven in the window and the base case is that 14.58 fills first.

THE LEADERSHIP-EXHAUSTION PAIR — SHORT USTECH, LONG US500 ON A RATIO CLOSE UNDER 3.911
Entry
Pair, 0.25% per leg at equal notional: short USTECH CFD / long US500 CFD on a 30-minute close of the Nasdaq-to-S&P ratio under 3.911 (the 30-minute EMA-14; the EMA-5 is 3.922) after 10:00 New York, after Monday's 3.94 high has stood for at least one bar. Market-neutral, so the headline protocol's strike on outright longs does not apply. Exempt from the daily 15:30 flat (v9.86).
Stop
Ratio 3.945 — outside Monday's ratio high 3.94 and the 30-minute high 3.928 on the render.
Targets
3.900 (30-minute 20-average) · 3.869 (30-minute 50-average) · 3.856 (30-minute 69-average; the daily 100-average 3.89 sits between)
Win prob.
~52% to 3.900 · ~40% to 3.869 · ~30% to flat (3.856). Conditional on the ratio close; reward-to-risk about 0.3:1 on the first target, 1.2:1 on the second, 1.6:1 on the flat.
Why
Unconventional. Monday was chips and Meta against a market whose transports fell: the ratio closed at 3.93 with a 30-minute RSI of 86 and a daily RSI of 67, the stretched end of a two-week run. A pair expresses the exhaustion without an outright index short into a tape that has run over three lids. The set's best odds, just over even: ratio structures have one scratch and one untriggered in the window, and the first target is close.

NDX-OVER-SPX THE LEADERSHIP PAIR, RE-KEYED — BUY THE FIRST RATIO PULLBACK THAT HOLDS 3.900
Entry
Pair, 0.25% per leg at equal notional: long USTECH CFD / short US500 CFD on a 30-minute close of the ratio back over 3.922 (the 30-minute EMA-5) after a dip to 3.900 or lower (the 30-minute 20-average), after 10:00 New York. The mirror of Option 06 and never open with it. Monday's version never fired because the ratio never dipped to its 3.863 line; the pullback is re-keyed 37 points higher, not removed.
Stop
Ratio 3.865 — outside the 30-minute 50-average 3.869 and the daily 20-average 3.88 cluster the pullback must hold.
Targets
3.94 (Monday's high) · 3.96 · 3.98 (the daily band top is 3.89 on the old render; re-read from the next capture)
Win prob.
~46% to 3.94 · ~34% to 3.96 · ~22% to flat (3.98). Conditional on the pullback-and-reclaim close; reward-to-risk about 0.3:1 on the first target, 0.7:1 on the second, 1.0:1 on the flat.
Why
Unconventional — the mirror. Leadership that has just made a two-week ratio high on a catalyst (Meta's agent, AMD at a trillion) tends to get one more push after its first pullback, and the Xi dinner is Wednesday. Under even odds because the ratio's 30-minute RSI is 86 and its daily RSI 67 — the pullback may be the turn rather than the re-entry.

Entry
XAUUSD CFD, one side only, daily-close basis (no 30-minute gold record in the capture): long 0.25% on a daily close over 4,384 (Monday's high 4,384.29; over the weekly EMA-5 4,374 and the 14-day EMA 4,362) with the ten-year closing at or under 5.00 the same day; or short 0.5% on a daily close under 4,305 (the 20-week; under Monday's low 4,323 and the 50-day 4,287 is the first target) with the ten-year closing over 5.00 the same day and the dollar over 100 (licence on at 100.41). Win prob.
~45% to 4,411 · ~35% to 4,467 · ~20% to flat (4,533) on the long side; ~45% to 4,287 · ~34% to 4,245 · ~26% to flat (4,235) on the short. Conditional on the daily close and the yield condition; reward-to-risk about 0.3:1 on the first long target, 1.0:1 on the second, 1.7:1 on the flat.
Why
Unconventional — a conditional bracket. Gold fell 0.78% on a day the dollar rose and oil fell — the war bid leaving, not real yields — and closed between the 20-day and the 20-week. The framework has no view on the side; the bracket is re-keyed to Monday's range. Odds under half because the long's first target is close and the short's needs the five-handle back.

Market Path

Next 24 hours

Base case: digestion under the door, priced with no lean. Under the new rule the framework expects Tuesday to trade 29,758–30,684 — a 926-point range centred on the close and no narrower than Monday's 913-point true range, from the 13-August band to the weekly band top — with a projected close of 30,200–30,520 on the Nasdaq-100, 7,720–7,780 on the S&P, VIX 14.3–15.8, ten-year 4.90–5.02 and a Brent settle of 97–103. Step by step: the 30-minute RSI is 89 and the 60-minute 86, the argument for a push that tires — the argument that failed Monday, which is why it carries no lean. The calendar is thin: Richmond Fed, Williams and Barkin, the WTI expiry, Pezeshkian in New York. Weight moves toward A on a daily close over 30,684 with the count over 45 — projected 30,700–30,850, the June high the next print. It moves back toward C on a holding close under 29,933 after a 30,061 print — 29,758 then 29,677 — and toward D if that comes with a ten-year close over 5.00 or a settle back over 101.

One week

Base case: 29,648–30,780, the floor of the new gap to the June high, with the June high touched at least once and the gap not filled inside the week. The S&P works 7,657–7,822, its gap floor to its quarterly band top. The calendar is the Trump–Xi summit and the AI-leaders dinner midweek (dated Wednesday by one calendar and Thursday by another; the framework boxes both), flash PMIs, durable goods, claims, Friday's final consumer sentiment, the NAAIM print Wednesday and AAII Thursday — the first surveys taken after the rally. Reweighting up: 30,780 on a daily close, the count over 50, JNK over 95 verified — B to A. Reweighting down: a daily close under 29,933 with the count under 45 — B to C; with a ten-year close over 5.00 or a settle at or over 101 — to D.

One month

The monthly verdict has become a retest. September's RSI is running 71.79 against the 69.74 August final, with the month up 3.48%: the September lower-peak read is un-locked. The three-peak structure is not — it needs a monthly close with the RSI over 77.88, June's peak, and that is 6.09 away. A September close over 30,780 with the RSI under 77.88 would be a higher price high on a lower RSI high with a count under 50 — the textbook form of the divergence, on the timeframe where 1999 is the sole precedent. A close under the monthly 5-EMA at 29,246 re-locks the lower-peak read instead. Central range 29,236–30,780. Of the bull path's five conditions, one has now fired (the settle), two are within a session's move (JNK 0.29, the ten-year six basis points), the count is 7.43 away, and the fifth is a signature. Q3 earnings begin around 13 October; the next FOMC is 28 October.

Six months and year-end

Central case: a 27,000–30,800 range with a downward drift while the monthly divergence resolves — the top of the range moves up 800 on Monday's print and the drift does not, because a divergence resolves at the high, not under it — with a hiking cycle the market prices at one more move capping the multiple, and a Hormuz reopening as both the largest upside input and the largest sell-the-news set-up for the war-bid assets. Year-end base 27,500–29,800 on the Nasdaq-100 and 7,100–7,700 on the S&P, conditional on the September close; a September close over 30,780 with the RSI under 77.88 raises the near-term high and lowers the year-end base by the size of the eventual resolution, and is not read as a bull case. The upside tail (31,500–33,000) needs a signed reopening, disinflation resuming and a monthly RSI close over 77.88; the downside tail (24,500–26,000) needs stacked shocks — a $120 Brent transit, a credit break under JNK 94 and a third hike.

Sources and Data Discipline

Monday's session colour — the record Composite close, the Meta, AMD, Intel and Arm moves, the Dow close and Tuesday's calendar — is from CNBC; the Nasdaq-100's 2.5% midday gain, the chip rally and the trimmed hike bets from Bloomberg and the Muse-agent chip story from Bloomberg; the closing summary, sector moves and AMD's market cap from Yahoo Finance and TheStreet; the Brent and WTI settles and the Yemen and Pezeshkian reports from CNBC; the Hormuz flow figures, the tanker count and the CENTCOM statement from Trading Economics and Reuters via Yahoo; the week's calendar and the summit dating from Yahoo Finance, Investrade and Stocktwits. Every index, volatility, breadth, rate and credit reading is from Core_Charts_20260922.pdf (Gen 3, 55 of 55 core charts resolved by manifest label), captured Tuesday 06:15 SGT and dated 21 September; live quotes are from live_prices_20260922.json at 06:43 SGT. JNK is a weekly render and its daily change is computed against Friday's chart close. The S&P's August intraday high is a read of the 60-minute render and is flagged as such wherever it appears. The AAII and NAAIM readings are carried from the 17 and 16 September prints, the high-yield spread from 18 September, and the ratio low in the ledger is a read of the 30-minute render; none is presented as a Monday print.

The Bottom Line

Monday did the range path's whole map in a session and left the chart with one lid: the June high, 298 points up. Oil crossed its restore line and the tactical cap is 30% again; the ten-year went under five without going under 4.94; the count crossed 40 without crossing 50. The members did not follow — zero net new highs, a new low in the high-low index, transports down, a VIX that rose — and that is exactly the shape the monthly thesis needs for its retest. Range is modal at 36 by rule, rollover retired to 30 on its internals, and no structural short is open. The book was flat on the best Nasdaq day since August because the gap clauses did their job; the map missed a third time and a no-lean rule replaces the lean. The tactical lines are a divergent rejection at 30,684–30,780 above and a holding close under 29,933 below. The next decision point is the first 30-minute close after 10:00 New York, and after that, the Xi dinner.
