The Nasdaq-100 gapped down 245 points, made its low before 11:00 and was bought back to flat (30,479, +0.03%) on a Reuters report of a phased Hormuz deal. Thursday's cash close was S&P 500 7,704.13 (−0.02%), Nasdaq-100 30,478.86 (+0.03%) and VIX 15.67 (+3.23%), with the Nasdaq Composite +0.01%, the Dow −0.31% and the Russell −0.11%. At 06:42 Singapore Friday the Nasdaq-100 CFD was 30,454.5 (−0.08%), the S&P CFD 7,697.4, the VIX future 17.93, Brent 106.77 and gold 4,271.66. The spike at midnight Singapore (12:17 ET) was Reuters reporting that negotiators in New York are exploring a phased path out of war, Hormuz for the blockade, from two Iranian, two regional and two Western sources; the same report quoted a US official saying Trump has no need to negotiate, and the move stopped 54 points under Wednesday's open. The ten-year closed 5.20 (a second close over five), the thirty-year 5.48 (a post-2004 high), Brent settled $106.60 after Houthi missiles at Yanbu; Bessent extended the US–China truce two months and the Xi state dinner produced no chip deliverable. Nothing was signed on Hormuz.

The Nasdaq-100 gapped down 245 points and made its low before 11:00. The open was 30,225.19, 129 points under Wednesday's low of 30,353.88 — a cash gap-down, the first since 14 September — and the index fell to 30,204.16, five points over the daily EMA-5 at 30,199 and 35 under the 30-minute band floor. The ten-year was at 5.23 intraday, the thirty-year at a 2004 high, and Brent had run to $108.23 after Houthi missiles were fired at Yanbu and Taif. Everything the Thursday map said would be tested was tested, in the first ninety minutes, on a gap.
At 12:17 New York — midnight Singapore — Reuters changed the session. The report, sourced to two Iranian officials, two regional officials and two Western diplomats, said negotiators in New York are exploring a phased path out of the war: Tehran allows navigation through Hormuz, Washington lifts the economic blockade, Iran moves its transit-fee demand to a side letter. The 12:00–12:30 bar ran the Nasdaq-100 from about 30,290 to 30,529, 325 points off the low; the S&P went from 7,680 to 7,719.01 and stopped to the cent on the top of the 7-August band. The index closed 30,478.86, three cents from flat, having filled its own gap inside the session. The same report carried the fade: a US official said Trump is open to talking but has no need to negotiate and is content to let the Iranian economy collapse, and the spike stopped 54 points under Wednesday's open. All frames are fresh from the 24-September chart set.
The ten-year closed 5.20 — a second consecutive close over five. The chart bar was 5.12 open, 5.23 high, 5.09 low, 5.20 close; the wire quoted 5.10–5.15 during the cash session and the 18:42 New York board printed 5.197, so the late-session rise is the chart's and the framework takes the chart. New York Fed president Williams said a further hike by year-end is reasonable and Philadelphia's Paulson said some modest further tightening may be warranted; October hike odds are 69%. The two-year closed 4.93, the thirty-year 5.48, and the 30-year mortgage rate reached 7.37%. The framework's D-fast input is a second consecutive close over 5.00 and it printed: the shock path takes four points by rule.
Brent settled $106.60, up 3.4%, a second settle over 101. Brent gained 3.4% to close at $106.60 a barrel and WTI settled at $94.61 after Houthi militants fired a barrage of missiles at Saudi cities including Yanbu, the Red Sea export terminal for the Hormuz workaround; the Reuters report then took the barrel off its high. The settle is 5.60 over the line that holds the 20% cap and 2.85 under the 109.45 step-4 watch, which the session high came within 1.22 of touching.
The VIX did the whole vol map in one session. It opened 15.83, over the 20-day, ran to 16.57 — through the 16.29–16.40 gap left the day after the September hike, which is now filled — and closed 15.67, six cents over the 20-day at 15.61. The future closed 17.93 and the basis fell to 14.4%, the second session under 20%, again because the spot rose into the curve. The put/call day-print was 0.73, and Wednesday's 0.75 was revised to 0.46: a second consecutive complacency print on the revised series.
Credit still has no wire print. The JNK render shows 93.68, a second print under 94 and an eleventh close under 95, with the high-yield option-adjusted spread five basis points wider at 2.73. No wire close under 94 has been found for a second session, so the credit leg of the shock path stays flagged rather than booked. A verified close under 94 gives the shock path four more points and makes it modal alone; the ladders line at 95 is 1.32 away.
The oil settle kept the cap and did not open the step-4 review. A second settle over 101 keeps R14 step 3 — the 20% tactical cap — in force; the step-4 watch at 109.45 is inside three dollars. Against the Reuters report, a senior Iranian military official threatened to widen the war to the Indian Ocean, Rezaei named a second front at Bab el-Mandeb, Safavi said the strait will never reopen in its prior form, and an Israeli source saw no real chance of an agreement. Only ten vessels transited on Wednesday. A report with six sources is the closest the tape has come to a date since June; it is not a date.
The gate on the structural short stands for a second day. The Nasdaq-100 closed 30,478.86 against a gate line of 30,496 with the count at 42.57 against 45: both conditions held on the close, as they did on Wednesday. The count has closed under 50 for fifteen sessions and did not close under 40 — the low on the members-over-50-day series went to 39.6 intraday and recovered — so the July-flush analog does not re-enter.
Breadth was sold on the gap and not bought on the report. At the low, sixteen Nasdaq-100 members were up and eighty-four down; at the close, thirty-three and sixty-seven. A 325-point bar in the index lifted the advance-decline percent from −58 to −35, which is a close under −30 and adds a sixteenth session to the rollover count. Both summation indices made new lows and the NYSE summation crossed −500; the NYSE high-low index made a twentieth sub-50 print at a new low; the broad count made a new low at 36.4; the transports closed under 19,500; the NYSE Composite traded through its pre-alert line at 23,792 intraday and closed 24 points over it. None of this changed direction; all of it moved further along the direction the count licensed.
The Xi summit changed nothing the framework tracks. The trade truce was extended two months to 10 January, Xi opened with conciliatory language on trade, and the state dinner seated the AI chief executives; no chip deliverable was reported. Oracle fell 3.5% on a force-majeure notice for its New Mexico data centre and Meta rose 4% on the Muse monetisation plan — single-name colour, outside the framework's instruments.
Path D rises 4 to 34% by rule. Thursday's issue wrote that a second consecutive ten-year close over 5.00 would put the shock path level with the rollover path. It closed 5.20, and the four points are booked. Brent's second settle over 101 and the second credit render under 94 add nothing further by rule — the settle is under the step-4 watch and the credit print has no wire close. D takes modal alone on any one more input: a VIX close over 17.85 (two points), a verified JNK close under 94 or a settle at 109.45 (four points each).
Path C falls 2 to 34% and shares modal. Every rollover internal printed — the gate for a second day, the transports through 19,500, both summations at new lows, the rollover count adding, the broad count at a new low — and the price half of the path is one session behind its breadth: the tape tested the low the map named and was bought back on a report. C gives two points for the flat close and no more. It hands modal to B on a daily close over 30,583 with the count over 45; it hands modal to D on any single D input.
Path B falls 2 to 24%. The day closed flat inside Wednesday's range and filled its own gap, which keeps the range read alive; it did so on a report bought in the index weights while the members made new lows, which is why B gives rather than takes. B takes weight back on a daily close over 30,583 with the count over 45 and gives more on a holding close under 30,204.
Path A holds 8%. A six-source report of a phased deal is the nearest thing to a signature the tape has seen since June and it is not one; the headline protocol releases longs on a signed date and on nothing else. Neither leg of the twin gate — the count over 50, credit verified over 95 — moved closer.
Lines that held, on the wrong clock. Thursday's line in the sand — a holding close under 30,354 as the rollover's next step toward 30,304 and 30,199 — printed within five points on all three levels before 11:00, but on a gap rather than a holding close, and was reversed by 12:30. The framework scores that a hit on the level and a miss on the timing, which is the recurring risk this archive has named since August and printed again. The 24-hour map hit on the Nasdaq-100 close (inside the range and the projected close band, the second hit running), on the S&P, on the VIX and on the ten-year at the edge; the range floor broke by 77 on the gap; Brent missed by 60 cents.
Structures that paid. Option 06, the carried VIX long, did the whole map in a session. The spot opened over the first target, so the second third is booked at 15.59 — the target, not the 15.83 open, under the doctrine that a gain that may not exist is not claimed — and the last third at 16.08. With the 15.13 third from Wednesday the blend is +0.82 per unit. The structure's conditional add, a close over 15.45 with the S&P under 7,709, printed on the render into the spike at about 16.20 and was flat at 15:30 near 15.65: a loss of 0.55 on a third, claimed because a loss that may exist is claimed. Net, the vol structure paid. VIX fills cannot be verified inside this pipeline. Option 07, the gold short from 4,287.61, is carried 23 points in the money; the week's low of 4,244.41 pierced the first target by 2.6 on spot and is not claimed.
Structures that cost. Three gap clauses filled on one morning, all at the low of the day, all reversed by one report. Option 01, the structural short, filled on the first post-10:00 close at about 30,260 at eighth size with its first target rolled to 30,199; the low missed the rolled target by five, and the position is carried 219 points underwater as designed. Option 02, the tactical failure, filled on its gap clause at the same level and was flat at 15:30 near 30,470, a cost of about 210 points at eighth size. Option 05, the S&P gap-fill, filled at about 7,675 at half size, its rolled target at 7,657 missed by 5.6, and was flat near 7,705 for about 30 points. Every one of those is owned at full cost. Two design faults surfaced under them and are fixed from this issue: the gap clause and the print qualifier conflicted (the gap is now the print), and the same-bar clause between the structural and the tactical short was ambiguous as written and produced two fills where it meant one (the structural now fills, the tactical stands down).
Missed calls. The headline protocol named a Xi headline and a signed date; it did not name a sourced two-side framework report, and that is what moved the tape 325 points against every short on the book. From this issue a report of that class — Reuters-grade, both sides sourced — trims the structural short by a third and halves every tactical short; it does not release a long, because it is still not a signature. Option 08, the leadership pair, missed its trigger by 0.001 for a third consecutive session; it is retired. Options 03 and 04 never approached their zones and are not booked.

Win probability is the framework's estimate that the first target prints before the stop within one day to one week, conditional on the trigger firing; it is not a backtest. It is calibrated to the scenario weights, to how this structure type has behaved across the last thirty days of issues, and to the distance from the last price. Anything at or below 50% is a lower-odds, higher-payoff structure and carries the muted pill. Two structures are carries — the structural short, 219 points underwater, and the gold short in the money — and one, Option 08, is unconventional: a second structural rung that re-anchors a losing carry into a two-rung structure with a break-even under the current close. Every structure is at or under 50% this session; a tape that has been bought on one report is a tape that can be bought on another.

The base case is a session that trades both halves of Thursday's range and settles inside it: the no-lean range is 30,290–30,668 (378 points, the wider of the last two true ranges, centred on the close) with a projected close of 30,340–30,620 for the Nasdaq-100 and 7,655–7,755 for the S&P; VIX 14.6–16.6, the ten-year 5.08–5.28, Brent 102–110 on the settle. The 30-minute momentum reading is 54 and the hourly 58 — neither spent nor stretched after a session that did both halves of the map — and the map has hit twice running, so it stays at no lean. Reweighting up: a daily close over 30,583 with the count over 45 un-prints the gate and returns modal to B, with 30,684 and 30,706 the lines over it. Down: a holding close under 30,204 after a 30,407 print is the rollover's next step toward 29,964 and 29,933; a VIX close over 17.85 makes the shock path modal at 36; a verified credit close under 94 or a settle at 109.45 makes it modal at 38. A second sourced report gaps the tape up through 30,529 and trims the structural short; a denial or a strike gaps it back to 30,204.
The staircase is the map, one session behind its breadth: 29,933–30,529, the gap #41 top to Thursday's high, inside the wider 29,648–30,780, with Thursday's low at 30,204 and the daily EMA-5 at 30,199 the week's decision line, and the 7,657–7,663 remnant of gap #42 filled inside the week. The week holds the Gulf meetings, the AAII and NAAIM prints, the quarter's end and the September monthly close on Wednesday the 30th, which is the monthly momentum verdict. Reweighting up: a daily close over 30,583 with the count over 45 moves C to B; over 30,780 with the count over 50 and credit verified over 95 moves B to A. Down: a daily close under 30,199 takes C and D to 38 each and runs the ladder — 29,933, the fill at 29,648, the 20-week at 29,438, gap #39 at 29,236–29,306 with the 50-day on its floor — and a VIX close over 17.85 or a verified credit break makes D modal inside the week.
The verdict is a retest on a lower momentum reading, now printed and turning: the monthly RSI is running 71.78 against the June peak of 77.88 and the August final of 69.74, the September high stopped 9.75 under the June high, and the index has since closed under the quarterly band top twice. A September close between 30,199 and 30,780 with the RSI under 77.88 locks the lower-peak retest — a higher price high on a lower momentum high with a sub-50 count — with four sessions to the verdict and the tape 301 under the high. A ten-year at a 2007 high and a thirty-year at a 2004 high into an October FOMC priced 69% for a hike cap every relief; a Hormuz framework, if it is ever signed, is the largest upside input and the largest sell-the-news for the war bid. Central case: 29,236–30,529 into the monthly close, then the resolution toward 28,753 and 27,753. The bull alternative needs five conditions, none met: a signed date, two settles under 101, credit verified over 95, the ten-year under 4.90 and the count over 50. The bear alternative — a settle at 109.45, credit verified under 94 and a VIX close over 21 — runs to the R3 band at 27,202–27,329 inside the month.
Six months out the central case is unchanged: a 27,000–30,800 range with downward drift while the monthly divergence resolves, a ten-year over five for two closes and a hike cycle with one more priced capping the multiple, and a Hormuz reopening as both the largest upside input and the largest sell-the-news for gold, oil and the dollar. A report-driven 325-point bar does not move the drift; a signature would move the near-term high, not the divergence. The year-end base is conditional on the September close: a close under 30,780 on a monthly RSI under 77.88 — the likelier print with four sessions left — gives 27,500–29,800 for the Nasdaq-100 and 7,100–7,700 for the S&P after a rollover and recovery. A September close over 30,780 with the RSI still under 77.88 raises the near-term high and lowers the year-end base by the size of the eventual resolution; it is not a bull case. Only a monthly close with the RSI over 77.88 retires the read, and that is 6.10 points away.

The ten-year's 5.20 close is the chart print, corroborated by the 18:42 New York board at 5.197; the wire's intraday 5.10–5.15 quotes are logged. The JNK 93.68 print is a chart read for which no wire close was found; it is flagged, not booked. Gold's 24-September close is derived from the 25-September bar's open and change on the render and is marked as such. AAII (24-Sep) and NAAIM (23-Sep) are fresh prints; nothing in this issue is carried, and no carried value is presented as a Thursday print.
Thursday repaired nothing and broke nothing; it gapped through the rollover's next two steps and was bought back through them on a six-source report that is not a signature, while the rate closed over five a second time and the barrel settled six dollars over the line. The shock path and the rollover path sit level at 34% by rule, and one more input — a VIX close over 17.85, a verified credit close under 94, a settle at 109.45 — makes the shock path modal alone. The book paid for the spike at full cost: three gap-clause fills at the low, all owned, and a structural short carried 219 points underwater with an add-back rung that turns the carry into a two-rung structure with a break-even under the close. The tactical line is 30,204 under the tape and 30,502–30,529 over it; 7,719–7,724 is the S&P lid. The next decision point is Wednesday's monthly close, four sessions away and 301 points under the June high.
