LUBATIX TRADER DIGESTMONDAY · 12 OCTOBER 2026 · FRIDAY US CLOSE · WEEKEND UPDATE · US BOND MARKET CLOSED TODAY

An Inside Day and No Line Printed: the Nasdaq-100 Closed 30,883.15 Under the Shelf It Lost, the S&P 500 Pierced 7,817 and Closed 5.5 Points Beneath It, the 10-Year Closed 5.24 Again — and the Weekend Brought a Mined Tanker to the Strait

Friday's issue named the day's decision as the close against 30,583 and drew two shelves around the price. Neither was resolved: the Nasdaq-100 spent the session inside Thursday's range and closed eight points under its fast daily average. The S&P 500 did more, trading through the line this framework has carried as its breakout level and closing five and a half points short of it. The broad market improved for a second day, the ten-year closed under its line again, and the weekend brought more attacks on ships than diplomacy. No published line printed, so nothing is reweighted. The framework signals the shock path still modal at 34%.

Executive Summary

Overnight in brief

The Nasdaq-100 rose 0.51% to 30,883.15 and the S&P 500 0.59% to 7,811.54 on Friday; the 10-year yield closed 5.24% and December Brent settled $104.72. The VIX fell 3.7% to 14.84. On Saturday night a supertanker struck a mine in the Strait of Hormuz; on Sunday a cargo ship was disabled and another tanker hit. Nothing was signed. At 06:44 Singapore Monday (18:44 New York Sunday) the Nasdaq-100 CFD was 30,969.6, the S&P CFD 7,822.3, Brent 105.57 and gold 4,188.31. US bond markets are closed today.

Framework signal

The framework signals the shock path modal at 34% while Brent settles over 101 with nothing signed; a daily S&P close over 7,817 moves two points to the range path, and a daily Nasdaq-100 close under 30,583 [the rollover line] makes the rollover path modal.
Called-shot note: all four Friday cells of the 7 October record-odds table missed. Friday's map scored four of five. One structure triggered late, for a scratch.

What Friday and the Weekend Changed

The Nasdaq-100 had an inside day. It opened at 30,900, 174 points over Thursday's close and inside Thursday's range, printed its high of 30,946.74 and its low of 30,770.05 inside the first hour, and spent the rest of the session between its intraday averages. The close was 30,883.15, up 0.51% — eight points under the daily EMA-5 and under the 30,895–30,985 shelf that Thursday's sell-off broke. Software and cybersecurity shares led; semiconductors fell after a report that Apple had cut component orders for its newest phone. The sequence is read from the 30-minute chart, not from tick data.

The S&P 500 went through its line and did not close over it. It opened at 7,786, made its low in the first bar and rose all day, trading through the old August high of 7,816.70 to 7,820.57 before closing at 7,811.54, up 0.59%. The line this framework has published is a daily close over 7,817. Friday's close was five and a half points short. The week ended up 1.15% for the S&P against 0.24% for the Nasdaq-100.

The NYSE's breadth oscillator closed over zero again. The NYSE McClellan oscillator ended at +10.12, its second close over zero in four sessions and its highest of the decline, and the NYSE summation index turned up. The NYSE Composite opened on its low and added 0.59%. Both bullish-percent series — the share of members on point-and-figure buy signals — rose 1.6 points, the Nasdaq-100's to 39.60 and the S&P's to 35.40, and 64 of 100 Nasdaq-100 members finished higher.

Volatility was sold to the week's low. The VIX opened on its high at 15.34 and closed at 14.84, seven cents over the low, under every one of its daily averages. The front future did not follow it down: at 17.03 it carries a 14.8% premium to the spot, the widest since 2 October.

The weekend was fought at sea. On Saturday night Iran's Revolutionary Guard navy said a crude supertanker on an "unauthorised route" had struck a mine and caught fire. On Sunday US Central Command released footage of a jet disabling a Panama-flagged cargo ship to enforce the blockade, the UK's maritime agency reported a projectile hit on an outbound tanker, and 22 crew were rescued from a burning tanker off the UAE. Brent was 105.57 on Sunday evening's board, 85 cents over Friday's settle.

What Friday Did Not Change

Rates. The ten-year closed at 5.24% for a second session. It printed 5.28 after the University of Michigan's preliminary October survey — sentiment at 46.3, the second-lowest on record, with one-year inflation expectations up to 4.7% — and came back under the line by the close. The two-year rose four basis points; futures put the odds of a rate rise on 28 October near one in five. Bond markets are shut today for Columbus Day, so the count of closes under 5.25 stays at two until Tuesday.

Oil. December Brent settled at $104.72, up 0.42% — a second settle over 101, so the framework's 20% cap stands and the restore count is still zero of two. A hurricane has shut in roughly 63% of Gulf of Mexico output; a Treasury licence for Russian diesel and the return of Chinese fuel exports pulled the other way.

Credit. The high-yield ETF added ten cents to 92.83, its twenty-second close under 95. The latest spread print widened another six basis points to 3.15, a second widening in a row. Credit sat out the bounce as it sat out the records.

The slow breadth series and the monthly divergence. The Nasdaq summation index made a new low and its oscillator is still under zero. Neither repair count this framework keeps has started: NYSE advancers led decliners by 362 against the 800 it counts, and the Nasdaq-100's advance-decline reading closed at +28.71 against +30. October's running bar holds a higher high than June's on a monthly RSI of 72.58 against 77.88.

Diplomacy. Mediators are still passing messages and told Al Jazeera they expect no breakthrough before Israel's election on 27 October or the US midterms on 3 November. Iran's army chief of staff said on Sunday "we will strike them again". The President's pledge not to strike before the midterms stands as one side's statement. Nothing was signed, so outright index longs stay struck.

B · Range / rotation

A · Bull continuation

No weight moved: every line Friday's issue published was tested at the close and none printed — the first unchanged matrix in two weeks.

Path D holds at 34% and stays modal. It has six lines and none printed in either direction: the ten-year did not close over 5.25, Brent settled neither under 101 nor at 109.45, the VIX closed nowhere near 17.44, the credit spread is 3.15 against 3.50, and the NYSE Composite is 597 points over its 200-day. The weekend's attacks are this path's subject, but the rule keys to a Brent settle, not to a headline or a Sunday board. It adds four on a ten-year close back over 5.25.

Path C holds at 30%. Friday closed under the shelf Thursday broke and under the fast daily average, with the count under 45 a third session and the Nasdaq summation at a new low. Against that, the Nasdaq-100's weekly MACD crossed back up on the weekly close and half its members are over their 50-day average again. C becomes modal on a daily close under 30,583, which is 300 points away.

Path B holds at 28%. This is the path that came closest to a step. Its line is an S&P close over 7,817; the S&P printed 7,820.57 and closed 7,811.54. The evidence for it improved without a pre-written weight — the NYSE oscillator over zero, both counts higher, more S&P members over their 50-day — and Friday's issue wrote no line for those, so none is taken after the fact. It takes two points on an S&P close over 7,817 and two on a Nasdaq-100 close over 31,117.

Path A holds at 8%. Its twin gate is unmoved: the count is 10.4 points from 50 and high-yield 2.17 from 95. A weekend of mined and disabled ships is the opposite of a signed reopening.

The Honest Ledger

The record odds resolved against the framework. The 7 October issue estimated about 68% for a new Nasdaq-100 intraday high by Friday, 60% for a new record close, 69% for a new S&P intraday high and 60% for an S&P record close. None of the four printed. Those were estimates over one half and they are booked as four misses. The table's final column, through Tuesday the 13th, is still open: the Nasdaq-100 needs 1.5% and the S&P 0.4%.

Friday's map: four of five. The Nasdaq-100 closed inside its projected band (30,883 against 30,530–30,922) and stayed inside its full range. The VIX, the ten-year and Brent were inside theirs. The S&P closed 23.5 points over the top of its band and its high ran 20 over the full range — an upside miss, the first since the wider band lapsed.

One structure triggered, late, for a scratch. The lost-shelf fade (Option 01) needed a print inside 30,895–30,985 after 10:00 and a 30-minute close back under 30,895. The day's high came in the opening bar and does not count. In the last two hours the half-hour bars read about 30,905–30,915 at their highs and about 30,880–30,890 at their closes, which meets the rule. The entry is taken as 30,885 and the 15:30 flat as 30,885–30,895: a loss of up to ten points on a quarter of a percent of book is claimed. The image resolves about five index points; a loss that may exist is claimed, a gain that may exist is not.

Structures that did not trade. Both sell-stops sat far under the lows — 223 points on the Nasdaq-100, 49 on the S&P. The S&P fade never saw a close back under 7,790 and was voided by closes over 7,806. The VIX long needed 15.70 and the high was 15.34. The rotation pair needed a half-hour close under 30,783 after 10:00 and the Nasdaq-100 traded there only in its opening bar; the ratio then moved in the pair's favour, and no gain is claimed. Gold never came within 31 dollars of its short trigger. The structural short armed by Thursday's close expired unfilled: its band began at 31,018 and Friday's high was 30,946.74.

What was left on the table. Friday's issue named a gold long on a daily close over 4,161 as the replacement if the operator struck the pair. The pair was not struck, the alternate was not live, and gold closed near 4,194. No gain is claimed. Outright index longs stayed struck through a session in which both indices rose about half a percent — one more session of opportunity cost, stated. The rule requires a signature.

Monday execution rule. It is Columbus Day: the stock market is open, the bond market is closed, no data is scheduled and participation is thin. The opening bar is not traded and no structure chases a gap; the first qualifying 30-minute close is the 10:30 bar. One tactical short per index: Options 01 and 02 behave as one-cancels-other, as do Options 04 and 05. Option 03 is not a Monday trade — it arms only on Monday's daily close and would enter on Tuesday. No outright index long is in the set. Everything tactical on the indices and the VIX is flat by 15:30; the pair and any structural fill are flat by 15:30 Tuesday, ahead of Wednesday's CPI. Step 9 — Trade Structures

Leveraged retail sizing. This plan does not prescribe position size in currency. The percentages are book-risk allocations: a "0.25%" structure risks a quarter of a percent of book equity between entry and stop, and a leveraged CFD account at up to 200× can express that with a fraction of margin. The framework's tactical cap is 20%: Brent has settled over 101 twice. With the ten-year closed under 5.25, tactical shorts are half size; a close back over it restores full size the next session. The halving rule applies to any long. A trigger gapped through by more than one percent is half size. The pair is sized on the pair, not on each leg. Nothing is entered on the opening bar.

Win probability is the framework's estimate that the first target prints before the stop within one day to one week, conditional on the trigger firing; it is not a backtest. It is calibrated to the scenario weights, to how each structure type has behaved across the last thirty days of issues — one fade has triggered this month, for a scratch; first-shelf sell-stops lost three times on 1 October; the last two filled structures before that were small losses — and to the distance from the last price. All eight sit under 50% and carry the muted pill: lower-odds, higher-payoff structures. No outright index long is issued, because nothing is signed and the S&P is 0.4% from its record. Three structures are unconventional: Option 03, a daily-close breadth-confirmed short entered a session late; Option 07, a short-Nasdaq / long-S&P pair that revives a retired structure type in one direction and is flagged for the operator to strike; and Option 08, a gold long against the framework's own rate licence. If the pair is struck, its slot goes to gold's short side: a daily close under 4,131.

NDX — the old-high fade: sell a rejection close back under 30,985 after a print inside 30,985–31,018
Entry
USTECH CFD, short 0.25% (half tactical size — the ten-year has closed under 5.25 twice, so tactical shorts stay at half size) at 30,985–31,018 — Thursday's open 30,985.23 up to the 2 October all-time high 31,017.53, with the 30-minute 69-average 31,004 and 50-average 31,007 inside — only on a 30-minute rejection close back under 30,985 after a print inside the zone made after 10:00 New York. No tactical short on strength: a 30-minute close over 31,018 before the rejection voids the day. Gap clause: a cash open inside or over the zone is not chased — the structure waits for a post-10:00 print in the zone and the close back under, or stands down. The Sunday-evening board (30,970) is fifteen points under the zone.
Stop
31,060 — outside the 2 October high 31,018 and the two 30-minute averages at 31,004–31,007, the lines a failed retest must stay under; beneath the weekly band top 31,109. No open gap sits between entry and stop.

Win prob.
~44% to 30,891 · ~32% to 30,801 · ~22% to flat (30,740). Conditional on the rejection close; reward-to-risk about 1.1:1 on the first target from 30,980 against the 80-point stop, 2.2:1 on the second, 3.0:1 on the flat.
Why
Friday's bounce stopped at 30,947 and closed eight points under the daily EMA-5; the band above it is where Thursday's sell-off started and where the old all-time high now sits as resistance. Friday's version of this structure, one shelf lower, produced the first fade trigger in a week — late in the day, for a scratch. The odds are under half because the weekly MACD crossed back up on Friday's close, half the index's members are over their 50-day again, and a bond-market holiday thins the tape in both directions.

NDX — Friday's low and the 10-day lost: sell a holding close under 30,740 after a 30,801 print, with the exhaustion rule
Entry
USTECH CFD, sell-stop 0.25% on the first 30-minute close after 10:00 New York that holds under 30,740 — the daily 10-average, thirty points under Friday's low 30,770.05, with the hourly 69-average 30,759 between them — and only after the cash session has traded at or over 30,801 (the 30-minute 20-average). Exhaustion rule: not armed if the session has already fallen more than 133 points from its open at the trigger bar (60% of Friday's 221-point true range). Void on a next-bar close back over 30,770. Gap clause: a cash open under 30,740 fills on the first post-10:00 close that holds under it only after a 30,770 print, at 0.125%, first target rolled to the second; an open under 30,639 stands the structure down.
Stop
30,812 — outside the 30-minute 20-average 30,801 and the hourly 10-average 30,808. The filled 2 October gap (30,616–30,737) sits beneath the entry and is no longer a magnet.
Targets

Win prob.
~38% to 30,685 · ~28% to 30,639 · ~18% to flat (30,583). Conditional on the holding close after a 30,801 print; reward-to-risk about 0.6:1 on the first target from 30,735 against the 77-point stop, 1.2:1 on the second, 2.0:1 on the flat.
Why
A holding close under Friday's low and the 10-day average means Friday's bounce has been handed back, with the hourly 100-average (30,685), the 30-minute 200-average (30,639) and the rollover line (30,583) beneath. The odds are low for three reasons: first-shelf sell-stops are the structure type that cost this book three losses on 1 October; Thursday's flush to this area was bought; and the shelf under the trigger is a stack of six lines inside sixty points, not open air.

NDX — the rollover line on a close: sell after a daily close under 30,583 with the count lower on the day, eighth size (unconventional)
Entry
USTECH CFD, short 0.125% (eighth size) after the first DAILY close under 30,583 — the line that makes the rollover path modal, with the daily EMA-14 30,618 just over it — on which the Nasdaq-100 bullish percent also closes lower than the prior session (under 39.60 on Monday's print). The count is an end-of-day print read from the next capture, so the entry is the following session's first 30-minute close after 10:00 New York that is still under 30,583. Chase cap: no fill if that close is under 30,412 (the weekly EMA-5). Gap clause: a next-session cash open over 30,583 stands the structure down for the day. Calendar clause: only Monday's close can arm it — an arming on Tuesday's close would enter on CPI morning and is not taken.
Stop
30,790 — outside Friday's low 30,770 and the daily 10-average 30,740: beyond the shelf the break would leave behind, not inside it.
Targets

Win prob.
~34% to 30,314 · ~26% to 29,933 · ~18% to flat (29,775). Conditional on the daily close under 30,583 with the count lower and a next-session fill inside the cap; reward-to-risk about 1.1:1 on the first target from 30,560 against the 230-point stop, 2.7:1 on the second, 3.4:1 on the flat.
Why
Unconventional — a daily-close trigger confirmed by a breadth print and entered a session late. It is carried from Friday's issue with its line unchanged: 30,583 has been published for nine sessions as the rollover path's modal trigger, and the close is 300 points over it. The odds are two points lower than Friday's because the count rose on Friday, the NYSE oscillator is positive and the flat-by-Tuesday clause leaves it one session to work.

SPX — the breakout-line fade with the bank rung: sell a rejection close back under 7,817 after a print inside 7,817–7,838
Entry
US500 CFD, short 0.25% plus the 0.125% bank rung (the bank index closed 170.65, a tenth close under 175) at 7,817–7,838 — the old August high 7,816.70 up to the 30-minute band top 7,838, with Friday's high 7,820.57 and the hourly band top 7,828 inside — only on a 30-minute rejection close back under 7,817 after a print inside the zone made after 10:00 New York. Half size by the rate rule. A 30-minute close over 7,838 before the rejection voids the day. Gap clause: a cash open inside or over the zone is not chased — the Sunday board (7,822) is already inside it, so the structure waits for a post-10:00 print in the zone and the close back under.
Stop
7,848 — outside the 30-minute band top 7,838 and the record high 7,844.52: beyond the two lids the rejection must fail under.

Win prob.
~42% to 7,803 · ~32% to 7,790 · ~26% to flat (7,782). Conditional on the rejection close; reward-to-risk about 0.4:1 on the first target from 7,815 against the 33-point stop, 0.8:1 on the second, 1.0:1 on the flat — a thin ratio stated plainly.
Why
Friday is the template: the S&P traded through the old August high to 7,820.57 and closed five and a half points back under it. A second failure at the same line, under the record and two intraday band tops, is the best-defined level on its chart. The odds are the lowest this fade has carried because the S&P is the index breadth is moving into — its bullish percent has risen two sessions, the share of members over their 50-day is up eight points in two — and Friday's map missed it on the upside.

Entry
US500 CFD, sell-stop 0.25% on the first 30-minute close after 10:00 New York that holds under 7,779 — Friday's low 7,779.34, with the daily EMA-5 7,782 three points over it — and only after the cash session has traded at or over 7,797 (the 30-minute 50-average). Exhaustion rule: not armed if the session has already fallen more than 33 points from its open at the trigger bar (60% of Friday's 55-point true range). Void on a next-bar close back over 7,788. Gap clause: a cash open under 7,779 fills on the first post-10:00 close that holds under it after a 7,788 print, at half size, first target rolled to the second; an open under 7,757 stands the structure down.
Stop
7,800 — outside the 30-minute 50-average 7,797 and the hourly EMA-14 7,795. The open 2 October gap (7,685–7,700) sits far beneath the flat, not between entry and stop.

Why
Friday's low and the daily EMA-5 share three points; a holding close under both returns Friday's whole advance, with Thursday's close (7,765), a pair of intraday averages (7,757–7,760) and the daily shelf at 7,737–7,741 beneath. The odds are low because the S&P's breadth rose on both of the last two sessions, the first target is twelve points away, and this structure type has been bought back on every fill this month.

Trigger-distance cap: no entry if that qualifying close is over 15.50 (the 50-day); the structure then waits for a pullback close between 15.26 and 15.50 or stands down. No add. Why
The spot was sold from its open to within seven cents of the week's low on Friday, into a weekend that then produced a mined supertanker and two more incidents in the strait, with bank earnings on Tuesday and CPI on Wednesday. The front future did not follow: its premium over the spot is 14.8%, the widest since 2 October. This is a hedge against the set's other reads, not a view. The odds are the lowest it has carried because the spot is under every daily average and the last two versions did not trigger or lost.

NDX against SPX — the rotation pair, carried: short the Nasdaq-100 and long the S&P 500 in equal dollar amounts, with the ratio at or under 3.95 (unconventional)
Entry
USTECH CFD short against US500 CFD long, equal notional on each leg, 0.125% of book at risk on the pair (eighth size), entered on the first 30-minute close after 10:00 New York on which the Nasdaq-100 is under 30,863 (its 30-minute 10-average) while the S&P is over 7,809 (its own) — the two indices on opposite sides of the same average, with the ratio of the two at or under 3.95. No entry if the Nasdaq-100 is under 30,740 on that bar: the pair is not a way to chase a break. Gap clause: none — the pair keys to the relationship, not to either open. The S&P leg is a hedge leg inside a dollar-neutral spread, not an outright long; if the operator's rule against long index structures is read to cover spread legs, this structure is struck and the alternate named with the set takes its slot.
Stop
A ratio of 3.98 — over the ratio's daily EMA-5 and 10-day average (both 3.97), about 0.7% against the pair. The ratio chart resolves to two decimals, so the stop is managed on the pair's net mark, never on one leg.
Targets

Win prob.

Why
Unconventional — a relative-value structure in a set of outright shorts, and still a flagged exception to the pair's 25 September retirement. Friday did not enter it: the Nasdaq-100 never closed a half-hour under its average after 10:00. But Friday extended the evidence. The S&P out-gained the Nasdaq-100, semiconductors fell on a day software rose, the S&P's count and its share of members over their 50-day both rose a second session, and the ratio closed under its fast averages with its MACD histogram turning negative. The odds are under half because the weekly Nasdaq-100 MACD crossed up, and Tuesday's bank earnings land on the long leg's largest non-technology weight.

XAUUSD — the reclaim: buy a daily close over 4,208 with a chase cap at 4,256, eighth size (unconventional)
Entry
XAUUSD CFD, long 0.125% (quarter of tactical size: the halving rule for longs, halved again for running against the rate licence) at the daily close on the first daily close over 4,208 — the high of the latest bar, 4,207.71 — after Friday's close on the daily EMA-14 at 4,196 (daily-close basis; no 30-minute gold record in the capture). Chase cap: no fill if that close is over 4,256 (the 69-day average). Gap clause: a next-session open under 4,160 halves the position at the first hourly close.
Stop

Why
Unconventional — it buys gold against the framework's own rate licence, which is still on with the ten-year over five for a thirteenth close. The case is the tape: 4,100 was bought four times in four sessions, Friday's bar gained 1.5% and re-took the five-day and ten-day averages, and the weekend added a mined supertanker to a week of record tanker attacks. Friday's short at 4,100 never came within thirty dollars of its trigger and is retired to an alternate. The odds are low because the 20-day (4,233) sits 21 dollars over the entry, the dollar index is at 102.23 with its RSI over 70, and this framework's last three gold structures lost or did not trigger.

Market Path

Next 24 hours

The base case is a session inside 30,581–31,185 with a close between 30,690 and 31,080 — the no-lean range, centred on Friday's close and 604 points wide, the wider of the last two true ranges. The S&P maps to 7,776–7,847 with a close of 7,788–7,835; the VIX to 14.1–15.9 and the December Brent settle to 101–109. The ten-year is not mapped: there is no cash close. The reasoning: both intraday momentum readings are neutral near 49; the evening board is 86 points higher on the Nasdaq-100 and already five over the S&P's line; the old all-time high sits just overhead and Friday's low and the 10-day average just beneath. With bonds shut, oil is the live input. A daily S&P close over 7,817 moves two points to the range path; a daily Nasdaq-100 close under 30,583 makes the rollover path modal.

One week

The base case is 30,412–31,125 inside 29,933–31,361. The week tests two unconfirmed repairs: the bond market's, with inflation expectations rising into Wednesday's CPI, and the broad market's, with no repair count yet started. Four large banks report on Tuesday and two on Wednesday; producer prices and retail sales follow on Thursday. Weight moves to the range path on closes over 7,817 or 31,117; to the rollover path on a close under 30,583; to the shock path on a ten-year close over 5.25, a VIX close over 17.44, a Brent settle at 109.45 or an NYSE Composite close under 23,343.

One month

October holds a higher high than June on a lower monthly momentum reading, seven sessions in. The central range is 29,775–31,361 into late October. Third-quarter profit growth is expected near 30%, the Fed meets on the 27th–28th, Israel votes on the 27th and the month closes on the 30th. The upside path needs five conditions and none is met: a signed Hormuz date, two Brent settles under 101, high-yield over 95, the ten-year under 4.90 and the count over 50.

Six months and year-end

Six months out the central case is a 27,000–31,600 range with downward drift while the monthly divergence resolves; the top of that range is unchanged for a second issue. A Hormuz reopening remains the largest upside input. The largest downside input is a return to strikes after 3 November, the date the President's own pledge attaches to it. To year-end the conditional base case stays 27,500–29,800 for the Nasdaq-100 and 7,100–7,700 for the S&P. The index is 1,083 points over the top of that band, from 926 on Friday's issue, and the S&P 112 over its own. The band is a framework output conditional on the divergence holding, not a forecast; it is withdrawn if October closes over 31,117 with the monthly RSI over 77.88.

Sources and Data Discipline

Friday's closes and session drivers are from TheStreet, Investopedia via Yahoo Finance and Market Scholars, which also carries the sector moves, the ten-year's wire close and the week's calendar; the Michigan survey and the rate-rise odds from Benzinga; the Brent and WTI settles from Reuters via Business Recorder and FinanceFeeds, with the diesel licence from Trading Economics; the weekend's events in the strait and the mediators' timetable from Al Jazeera. Every chart value is from Core_Charts_20261012.pdf, Gen 3, 55 of 55 core charts resolved by manifest label, captured 06:21 Singapore Monday; live prices from the 06:44 capture. Six flags. The Brent and gold charts carry an 11 October bar date that includes Sunday-evening trade: Brent's Friday settle is the wire's, and gold's Friday close is bracketed by the board's prior close of 4,194.24 and the chart's 4,196.14. One wire page described Brent as lower on the day at its time of publication; two others give the settle used here. The share of Gulf of Mexico output shut in is reported as 63%, more than 70% and about 25% by different sources; 63% is used. Sunday's board shows the ten-year at 5.26, which is indicative and not a close. The Nasdaq-100 bullish percent printed 39.60, so Friday's note that the series had moved to whole numbers does not hold. Intraday sequences and the Option 01 trigger are read from 30-minute chart images that resolve about five index points, not from tick data. The high-yield spread is a next-business-day series (3.15 is 8 October). The sentiment surveys are last week's prints, carried. Carried values are not presented as Friday prints.

The Bottom Line

What repaired: the broad market improved a second day, with the NYSE oscillator over zero and both counts higher, and the ten-year closed under 5.25 again. What did not: the Nasdaq-100 closed under the shelf it lost, the S&P closed under its line after trading through it, the Nasdaq summation made a new low, Brent settled over 101 and the weekend added a mined tanker to a war with no signature. No line printed and the weights are unchanged at 34, 30, 28 and 8. Four record-odds estimates missed and one fade scratched; both are owned. No outright long is issued. The tactical lines are 30,985–31,018 above and 30,740 below; for the S&P, 7,817–7,838 and 7,779. The next decision points are Monday's S&P close against 7,817, Tuesday's bank earnings and Wednesday's CPI.
