The Nasdaq-100 rose 1.17% to 29,529.34 on Monday, failing 75 points under its 50-day; the S&P 500 added 0.41% to 7,690.73 and the VIX closed 18.44. The index opened 352 points over Friday's close, rallied through every average it had lost on Friday to 29,788.76 and gave back 259 of it, closing 12 points under the shelf it had just re-taken; the chips ended an eight-session losing streak while nine of eleven S&P sectors fell, the NYSE Composite dropped 0.50% and decliners beat advancers 1,761 to 945. The ten-year rose five basis points to 5.14%; December Brent settled over the 109.45 step for a second day after a two-and-a-half percent morning fall on a Russian sanctions waiver was bought back on Houthi claims against Saudi targets and a third Iranian tanker-mine claim. Lavrov visited Tehran and offered mediation; nothing was signed. At 06:40 Singapore Tuesday (18:40 New York Monday, the post-close board) the Nasdaq-100 CFD was 29,594.9, 66 over the cash close and inside the fade zone, the S&P CFD 7,704.6, Brent 109.18, gold 4,137.99 and the VIX future 18.60 — back over the spot.

The first move was the test, and the test carried through the void line. The Nasdaq-100 opened at 29,539.31, 352 points over Friday's close and two points under the floor of the shelf this framework had drawn at 29,541–29,621; because the low of the opening bar at 29,461.32 overlaps Friday's range, no daily gap was logged. It dipped in that first bar and then rallied through everything it had lost on Friday — the 20-week average, the 69-day, the 100-day, the daily band floor it had reclaimed at the open, and the hourly 20-average at 29,721 that was the fade's void line — to 29,788.76 by the 11:30 bar. That high is 75 points under the 50-day at 29,864 and four points under the daily EMA-5 at 29,793, which on the fresh chart set is the line that retires the rollover read. From there the index sold 259 points through the afternoon and closed at 29,529.34, up 1.17% on the day and twelve points under the shelf it had re-taken: back under the 69-day and the 20-week by 32 and 40 points, 57 over the daily band floor. The daily bar is a ten-point body with a 259-point upper shadow — a rejection at the 50-day drawn in one candle. It is a fifth consecutive close under 30,583. The sequence is read from the 30-minute chart at about four to five points per pixel, calibrated to the session's high and low; the open, high, low and close are the chart's own.
The two sides of the market split a third day, each time the other way. On Thursday the NYSE rose and the Nasdaq-100 closed flat after a 527-point reversal; on Friday the NYSE rose and the Nasdaq-100 fell 2.5%; on Monday the Nasdaq-100 rose 1.2% and the NYSE Composite fell 0.50% to 23,967, closing 268 points under the 50-day it had printed on Friday. The chips were bought — the semiconductor index rose 1.61% to end an eight-session losing streak, its longest since 2010; Amazon rose 5% on a broker's target, Tesla 3.8%, Micron 3%, Intel 2.4% on an upgrade — and almost everything else was sold: utilities fell 2.0%, real estate 1.2%, financials 0.8%, energy, industrials and health care 0.6% each; nine of eleven sectors closed lower on a day the S&P 500 rose 0.41%; the equal-weight index fell 0.32%; NYSE decliners beat advancers 1,761 to 945. The S&P itself opened inside the fade zone this framework had drawn, printed 7,731.18 — four points under its 20-day — and closed 7,690.73, fourteen points under its 50-day for a second session, never closing under the 7,673 line that would have triggered the fade. The rotation into the broad market that had made Friday's tape strange was unwound in one session, and the index rose on its largest weights while its members fell.
The count did not move at all. The Nasdaq-100 bullish percent opened, printed and closed at 41.58 — not one of the hundred members changed its point-and-figure column on a day the index rose 342 points and retested its 50-day. That is the first zero-change session of the leg, and it says what a bounce inside existing downtrends looks like: price can rise a long way without any member reversing its chart. The members' share over their own 50-day did move, up 4.95 to 44.55 and back over 40, which means the breadth half of the range path's re-take line is now met and the price half — a daily close back over 29,864 — is the whole of the question. The S&P's count fell 0.20 to 44.40 after printing 45.00 intraday, the line that would lift the broad tier to review, pierced and not closed. The Nasdaq-100 advance-decline percent printed +34.65 — the first print over the +30 repair line of the leg — and closed +16.83; pierced, not closed, the same shape as the index at its 50-day. The Nasdaq summation index fell 26 more to −800.72, a new low under −800, with its oscillator negative for a ninth session. The NYSE advance-decline line closed −796, four issues short of the −800 line that adds to this framework's distribution count; the NYSE oscillator closed +2.89, over zero for a sixth close of seven, by less than three. The transports fell 0.9% and closed under their fast average a second day, which by the rule written on Friday retires the second of their two repair prints.
The VIX faded as the Sunday backwardation priced, and stopped on its 200-day. The spot opened 18.37, printed 18.93 in the first hour, fell to 17.39 by midday — six cents under the fixed 17.45 line, intraday, through the hourly 20-average and the 30-minute band mid — and recovered to close 18.44, down 7.75%: 32 cents over the 200-day at 18.12, six cents back inside the daily band, inside the March gap for a second close, and 99 cents over the fixed line on a second close, so the shock path's two points from Friday stand. It closed under 19, and by the rule this framework wrote on Friday that ends the leg-3 regime: every new tactical short opens at its stated size from this issue, the countertrend leg at 19 re-arms, and a daily close back over 19 would re-start it. The front future went from 1.16 under the spot on the Sunday board to 16 cents over it on Monday's post-close board. The market took Friday's spike out and left Friday's regime in.
Gold closed under its line on the day the ten-year rose, and the bracket's short leg filled. The gold chart's Monday bar closed 4,141.21 at its 18:20 New York print — under the 4,147 line the bracket keyed to — while the ten-year closed 5.14%, over the 5.00 gate. Both conditions on one close: the short is filled at about 4,141 at an eighth of a percent and carried, the long leg is voided, and on the post-close board at 4,137.99 it is about three points onside. The December futures settled 4,160.10, down 0.50%; the chart's print is corroborated by the board's implied day close at 4,140.52, and the caveat that an 18:20 bar can extend through the evening session is stated. It is the first gold structure in eight to fill; the seven before it lost or did not trigger, and this one has not paid yet.
Rates. The ten-year closed 5.14% on the chart, up five basis points, with the wires between 5.14 and 5.15 — a seventh consecutive close under 5.25, eleven basis points from the line that would add four to the shock path and fourteen from the 5.00 line that would lapse its fast input and close the gold short. The two-year rose seven to 4.78, the thirty-year four to 5.47; the curve rose across on the day the home-builders' index printed 29, its lowest reading since June 2012, with the six-month sales outlook down five points and the 30-year mortgage at 7.40%. The dollar closed under its 10-day average a third day, by 16 cents. The Fed is in blackout; the prediction markets price a hold at the 27–28 October meeting at about 85% and a December hike near 90%, and one bank's economists still call October live. The bond market sold the chip bounce, not the housing data, and the rate input to the shock path moved toward its line rather than away.
Credit. The high-yield ETF closed 92.26, two cents lower, on a chart that rendered a daily bar this session after six weekly renders — a twenty-eighth close under 95 and nineteenth under 94; no wire close was found and the chart figure is carried as such. The spread series posted Friday's print at 3.31, eight basis points wider and the widest of the leg, 19 basis points from the 3.50 line that adds two to the shock path; Monday's print is not yet posted. The one AI-infrastructure borrower this framework watches as a canary was upgraded by a broker on Monday with its target cut by a quarter, and its price move for the day differs by source, so it is logged and not used. Credit sat out the bounce.
Oil and the strait. December Brent fell 2.5% to 107.16 in the morning after the President's Friday order waiving some sanctions and tariffs on Russian energy exports, and after he claimed on Sunday to have struck a deal to import Russian diesel. The fall was bought back: the Houthis claimed six operations in 48 hours against Saudi targets — the Aramco facility at Yanbu, the Shaybah oilfield, the Riyadh and Abha airports, radar and military sites — which Riyadh did not confirm and Reuters could not verify; a Riyadh air-threat alert was issued and lifted; a Houthi missile strike on a Yemeni training camp killed 53; Saudi Arabia postponed its investment conference to 2027. In the strait, the Revolutionary Guard claimed a third tanker had struck a mine on an unauthorised southern route with its transponder off, which no Western command had confirmed by the close; Kpler put Gulf crude flows at 8.5 million barrels a day on a seven-day average, down from more than 20 the week before, with at least ten confirmed vessel incidents. Brent settled $109.55, down 31 cents and ten cents over the step for a second consecutive day. The step is a watch that printed once and does not print twice, so no points move; what the second settle does is reset the only way the shock path gives points back on oil — two consecutive settles under 109.45 — to zero. A waiver on Russian barrels does not reopen a strait, and the settle said so.
Diplomacy. Russia's foreign minister arrived in Tehran on his first visit since the war began, called the US-Israeli strikes illegal, said Moscow aims to prevent "the return of a large-scale war" and offered to mediate. Iran's foreign minister said the seven-day plan — the strait reopens on day six if Washington lifts the blockade and eases sanctions — "remains on the table", that talks are at a standstill, and, to the President on social media, that Iran has "unfinished jobs too". Israel's prime minister released a recording of a call in which he told the President "we have a job to finish". The President said Russia is doing "very little, if anything" to help Iran. A mediation offer, an offer that has been rejected twice and a promise to finish a job are three statements and no signature. Nothing was signed; outright index longs stay struck.
The monthly divergence. October's running bar holds a higher high than June's on a monthly RSI of 67.41 against 77.88 — the gap narrowed to 10.47 on Monday's bounce from 11.99 on Friday's break and is still the second-widest of the leg — and the bar is 879 points under September's close of 30,408.50, down 2.9% on the month with eight sessions left. The verdict is the monthly close on 30 October. The one-month central range re-drawn on Monday's issue, 28,564–30,294, held its first session; the year-end band, 27,500–29,800, contains the index for a second close, 271 points under its top.
No weight moves. Three lines were pierced on Monday and none was closed through: the rollover path's retirement line, which the high missed by four points on the fresh set; the range path's re-take line at the 50-day, which the high missed by 75 while its breadth half printed; and the S&P's 20-day, which the high missed by four. The VIX pierced its fixed line by six cents and closed 99 cents over it; Brent settled over the step a second time; the ten-year closed between its two lines. The framework counts closes. The lines are re-keyed to the fresh averages below and the weights are the weights of 16 October.
Path D holds at 36% and is modal alone a second issue. Its volatility input faded 7.8% — exactly what the Sunday backwardation priced — and stopped on the 200-day, holding the fixed line on the close, so Friday's two points stay booked and the reversal half that would return them did not print. Its oil input settled over the step again and reset the restore count. Its rate input rose five basis points toward 5.25. Its spread input is the widest of the leg. And the input it lacked on Friday — the broad market — moved its way on Monday: the NYSE Composite fell half a percent under a chip bounce, nine sectors fell, and the advance-decline line came within four issues of a distribution flag. D takes four more on a ten-year close over 5.25, two on a VIX daily close over 22.31 or a 120 settle, two on a spread over 3.50 and two on an NYSE Composite close under its 200-day at 23,398. It gives two back to the range path only on both halves of a reversal: a VIX daily close under 17.45 and two consecutive December settles under 109.45, which now start from zero.
Path C holds at 34%. Its retirement line — a daily close over the daily EMA-5 with the count over 40, and the count is over 40 — was 29,925 as written and is 29,793 on the fresh set; Monday's high stopped four points under the fresh line and the close is 264 under it. The line falls a third time because it is the average as read, and the structural follows it a third time, now with the 50-day inside its zone. The path's own evidence on Monday: the first re-take of the lost shelf failed under the 50-day and closed back under the shelf's floor; the count did not rise on a 342-point day; the Nasdaq summation made a new low under −800; a fifth close under 30,583; the transports' second repair print retired. Against it: the hourly oversold that fuelled the bounce is spent, the members' share re-crossed 40, and the index closed back inside its daily band. C retires to 30 on a daily close over 29,793; it draws level with D on a daily close under 28,777 with the count under 40.
Path B holds at 22%. Its re-take line was half-printed: the members' share over their 50-day crossed back over 40, and the index itself stopped 75 points under the average. Monday was the range path's shape — an oversold bounce into resistance — and also the unwinding of the range path's Friday evidence, because the broad market that was bought under Friday's chip break was sold under Monday's chip bounce. B takes two from D on a daily Nasdaq-100 close back over 29,864, with the breadth half already met, or on an S&P daily close back over 7,736; two from C on a third advance-decline close over +800 with the oscillator over zero; and two from D if the VIX and Brent both reverse through their lines. It gives two more to C on a daily close under 28,777 with the count under 40.
Path A holds at 8%. Neither half of its twin gate moved — the count is 8.4 points from 50 and high-yield 2.74 under 95 — and a mediation visit is not a signature.
The Nasdaq-100 fade was voided by its own rule, and the rule was right for the wrong-looking reason. Option 01 needed a rejection close back under 29,541 after a print inside 29,541–29,621 from the 10:30 bar, and was voided by a 30-minute close over 29,721 before any rejection. The open at 29,539 was two points under the zone, so the gap clause did not bind. The 10:00 and 10:30 bars printed inside the zone and closed inside or over it; the 11:00 bar closed near 29,750 on the chart, over the void line, and the day was voided. The index then printed its high on the 11:30 bar and sold 259 points to close twelve under the zone floor — at 16:00, after the 15:30 time box, with the 15:30 bar closing inside the zone near 29,545. No cost either way. The void line kept the book off a re-take that ran 170 points past the zone top, and the rejection it kept the book off would have paid on the last bar only. It is stated here because the shelf did what the fade said it would do, a day late and a bar too late; the design is not changed.
The S&P fade was right on level and never triggered. Option 04 needed a print inside 7,673–7,706 and a rejection close back under 7,673. The open at 7,702.77 was inside the zone, so under the clause it was not chased; the low of the day, 7,684.79, held twelve points over the rejection line through every bar; the high of 7,731.18 stopped eight under the void line. The S&P spent the session inside or just over the stack and closed inside it. A fade that waits for a line to be closed under, on a day the line is never closed under, is a fade working as designed on a day the index went nowhere.
The VIX doorway filled cleanly for the first time, and scratched. Option 06 needed a 30-minute close back over 18.10 after a post-10:30 print under 17.84, with the taper in place of the cap. The open at 18.37 was over 17.84, so there was no gap-clause print; the spot fell to 17.39 by midday, which is the pullback print, and the first 30-minute close back over 18.10 is the early-afternoon bar near 18.3 on an image that resolves about two cents — under the 18.95 taper edge, full size, no ambiguity. After three consecutive versions decided inside the resolution of a cap, the taper did what the cap could not. After the fill the high was near 18.6; the first target at 19.99 did not print, the stop at 17.30 was never approached, and the long was flat at 15:30 near 18.4 — about a tenth of a point, inside the image's resolution. Under this framework's doctrine a gain that may not exist is not claimed. Scratch. VIX fills cannot be verified inside this pipeline.
The gold bracket's short leg filled; the gain, so far, is three points and is not claimed either. Option 08 needed a daily close under 4,147 with the ten-year over 5.00. The chart's Monday bar closed 4,141.21 at its 18:20 print, the board's implied day close is 4,140.52, the December futures settled 4,160.10 — all under the line — and the ten-year closed 5.14. Short near 4,141 at an eighth, carried; the long leg is voided. The stop is 4,200, over Monday's high and the 20-day; the exit line is re-keyed to the fresh daily EMA-14 at 4,171 from the written 4,176, and a ten-year close at or under 5.00 closes it. It is the first fill in eight gold structures. Nothing is booked on it until it pays or stops.
Structures that did not trade. The Nasdaq-100 sell-stop (Option 02) never saw its trigger — the low was 388 points over it. The structural (Option 03) never saw its written zone, 136 points over the high, though the fresh line it is keyed to was missed by four; it stays armed and is re-keyed down a third time, and Monday's issue said its expiry unfilled on Thursday was "the likely outcome" — after a session that came within four points of its line, that call is withdrawn here rather than left to lapse. The S&P sell-stop (Option 05) was 53 points from its trigger. The 50-day re-take rung (Option 07) was 79 points short of its band and is now folded into the structural, because the 50-day sits inside the structural's re-keyed zone and two structures may not share a level.
The struck long was never in play; the retired pair moved against. Monday's issue named and struck a long at the gap floor, 28,777, as the most tempting structure on the tape; the low was 29,461, so the alternate was never live and standing aside cost nothing. The rotation pair retired on 14 October after three misses had run 2.7% in its favour by Friday; on Monday the ratio moved from 3.81 to 3.84, 0.8% against it. The cost named on Monday is smaller by that much. It is still named and not claimed, and the pair is not revived.
Monday's map: four of five. The S&P closed 7,690.73 inside its 7,625–7,694 band by three points, though its high pierced the range top by fifteen; the VIX closed 18.44 inside 17.6–22.3; the ten-year 5.14 inside 4.99–5.19; December Brent 109.55 inside 104–112. The Nasdaq-100 closed 29,529.34, 79 points over the top of its projected band at 29,450, with the high 170 over the range top — an upside miss, the first of the leg, after Friday's downside miss. Two misses on opposite sides do not widen the band; the width stays at one times the wider of the last two true ranges, which is still Friday's 862.
Calls that resolved. "The first move is the test of 29,541–29,621 from below" printed — and this framework had written it with Friday's miss in view, so the hit is noted without a flourish. "The 10:30 bar decides the book" did not print: the 10:30 bar closed inside the zone and decided nothing, and the deciding bar was the 11:00 close that voided the fade; owned. "The front future under the spot prices Monday as a fade of Friday's spike" printed — the VIX fell 7.75%. The leg-3 regime ended exactly as its rule was written on Friday, on a daily close under 19. The structural's "expiry is the likely outcome" is withdrawn above. The second settle over the Brent step was not a line and moved nothing, and the ledger says so rather than booking a repeat.

Win probability is the framework's estimate that the first target prints before the stop within one day to one week, conditional on the trigger firing; it is not a backtest. It is calibrated to the scenario weights, to how each structure type has behaved across the last thirty days of issues — sell-stops paid twice last week under their clauses and were untriggered Monday; fades have met their triggers three times this month for a scratch, an unclaimed gain and a claimed loss, missed by four points on Friday and were voided by rule on Monday; the structural has armed five times and filled never, and came within four points of its fresh line on Monday; the doorway long filled cleanly for the first time on Monday and scratched; the gold bracket filled on its eighth attempt and has not yet paid — and to the distance from the last price. All eight sit under 50% and carry the muted pill: lower-odds, higher-payoff structures. No outright index long is issued, because nothing is signed. Three structures are unconventional: Option 03, the structural keyed a third time to the one line that would retire its own path, now holding the 50-day inside its zone; Option 07, a gold add-rung keyed to a second gate — the dollar's 10-day average — on top of the rate gate that filled the short; and Option 08, the filled gold short carried with this framework's own rate gate as its exit.
| # | Structure | Win prob. | Instrument | Side |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | NDX — the lost-shelf fade at the 69-day / 100-day band, re-keyed: sell a rejection close back under 29,561 after a print inside 29,561–29,619, from the 10:30 bar | ~36% | NDX (USTECH CFD) | Short (rejection) |
| 02 | NDX — Monday's low lost: sell a holding close under 29,461 after a 29,529 print, with the buffered exhaustion rule and the gap clause | ~32% | NDX (USTECH CFD) | Short (sell-stop) |
| 03 | NDX — the structural, re-keyed to the retirement line a third time with the 50-day inside its zone: sell a rejection close back under 29,793 after a print inside 29,793–29,916, eighth size, with the gap clause (unconventional) | ~34% | NDX (USTECH CFD) | Short (structural, eighth size) |
| 04 | SPX — the 50-day stack fade with the bank rung, re-keyed: sell a rejection close back under 7,698 after a print inside 7,698–7,715 | ~40% | SPX (US500 CFD) | Short (rejection + bank rung) |
| 05 | SPX — Monday's low lost: sell a holding close under 7,685 after a 7,699 print, with the buffered exhaustion rule and the gap clause | ~34% | SPX (US500 CFD) | Short (sell-stop) |
| 06 | VIX — the doorway re-entry over the 200-day, re-keyed, with the taper: buy a 30-minute close back over 18.12 after a post-10:30 print under 17.83; full size to 18.82, half size to 19.32, none above | ~36% | VIX (CFD, spot-referenced) | Long (convexity, tapered) |
| 07 | XAUUSD — the dollar-gate add-rung to the filled short: add an eighth on the first daily close under 4,100 with the dollar index closing over its 10-day (102.13) the same day (unconventional) | ~28% | XAUUSD (CFD) | Short (add-rung, eighth size) |
| 08 | XAUUSD — the rate-gate short, filled and carried from ≈4,141: stop 4,200; targets 4,044 / 3,937 / 3,844; a daily close back over 4,171 or a ten-year close at or under 5.00 closes it (unconventional) | ~36% | XAUUSD (CFD) | Short (carried, eighth size) |
The base case is a session inside 29,098–29,960 with a close between 29,267 and 29,791 — the no-lean range, centred on Monday's close at one times the wider of the last two true ranges, which is still Friday's 862; Monday's was 601. The S&P maps to 7,635–7,747 with a close of 7,656–7,725, Friday's 112-point true range re-centred; the VIX to 17.0–20.0, the ten-year to 5.04–5.24 and the December Brent settle to 105–113. The reasoning runs in four steps. The index re-took the lost shelf for a day and closed twelve points under its floor, the hourly oversold is spent and the daily is not, and the board sits inside the shelf at 29,595 — so the first move is the second test of 29,561–29,619, from inside it this time, with the 30-minute 50-average at 29,687 and then Monday's high, the retirement line and the 50-day at 29,789–29,916 over it. Under are Monday's low at 29,461 with the daily band floor on it, Friday's close at 29,187, the launch gap's top and Friday's low at 29,109 and 29,073, and the gap floor at 28,777. The VIX future is back over the spot by sixteen cents: the market has stopped pricing a fade and is pricing a hold around the 200-day into Netflix, which is why the shorts in the set return to full stated size and why all of them are flat by 15:30. Monday's version of this paragraph called the first move correctly and the deciding bar wrongly; this one names the 10:30 bar as the first read, not the decision. A daily close over 29,793 retires the rollover read; a daily close back over 29,864 returns two points to the range path; a daily close under 28,777 with the count under 40 draws rollover and shock level.
The base case is 29,109–29,916 inside 28,777–30,583. This is the week the retirement line is either rejected or closed over. Monday did the first half of the structural's thesis — a re-take that failed 75 points under the 50-day — without a qualifying print, and the line now sits 264 points over the close with the 50-day inside the structure's zone. The two paths that lead describe the same direction and differ on the engine — the chart or the barrel — and the tape has split three days running between the chips and everything else. The tests: a daily close over 29,793; a daily close under 28,777 with the count under 40; a daily close back over 29,864, with the breadth half already met; the S&P against 7,736 and 7,685; the count against 40 and 45, which the S&P's count printed intraday on Monday; the ten-year against 5.00, which closes the gold short, and 5.25, which adds four to the shock path; the VIX against 19, 22.31 and 17.45; the Brent settle against 109.45 twice and 120; the spread against 3.50, nineteen basis points away; the advance-decline line against −800, which it missed by four; and the earnings — Netflix on Tuesday for the Nasdaq-100's first binary of the week, Tesla and Meta on Wednesday for the chips' customers. The downside path inside the week runs 29,461, 29,187, 29,109, 28,777, 28,564, the 3 August gap at 28,440–28,274, the running quarterly EMA-5 at 27,962 and the 61.8% retracement at 27,753 on the 200-day; for the S&P, 7,685, 7,659, 7,632, 7,617, 7,600 and 7,521.
October holds a higher high than June on a lower monthly momentum reading, thirteen sessions in, with the gap between the readings at 10.47 — narrower than Friday's 11.99 after Monday's bounce, still the second-widest of the leg — and the running bar 879 points under September's close, with a 7.3% lower shadow. The one-month central range re-drawn on Monday's issue, 28,564–30,294, held its first session: the close is 965 points over its floor and 765 under its top. The Fed meets on the 27th and 28th in blackout with a hold about 85% priced; Israel votes on the 27th, the month closes on the 30th and the US votes on 3 November. The upside path still needs five conditions and none moved on Monday: a signed Hormuz date, two Brent settles under 101 against a settle of 109.55, high-yield over 95 (2.74 away), the ten-year under 4.90 (24 basis points away) and the count over 50 (8.4 away). The verdict is the monthly close: over 31,117 with the monthly RSI over 77.88 invalidates, 1,588 points and 10.5 RSI points away; a close under 30,408.50 makes October a down month after a record print, which is the shape the divergence describes, and the bar is 879 under it with eight sessions left.
Six months out the central case is a 27,000–31,600 range with downward drift while the monthly divergence resolves; the top of that range is unchanged for an eighth issue, and the index sits in its middle. The bond market's growth-scare read of the last fortnight and the equity market's of last Friday were both answered on Monday by a one-day reversal — the chips bought, the broad market sold, the home-builders at a 2012 low — which is rotation inside a range, not a resolution of it. A Hormuz reopening remains both the largest upside input and the largest sell-the-news for the war-bid assets, gold first; a return to strikes remains the largest downside input, and a Russian mediation visit and an Israeli promise to finish the job arrived on the same day. To year-end the conditional base case stays 27,500–29,800 for the Nasdaq-100 and 7,100–7,700 for the S&P. The index is inside the band for a second close, 271 points under its top and 2,029 over its floor; the S&P is nine points under its own top. The band is a framework output conditional on the divergence holding, not a forecast; it is withdrawn if October closes over 31,117 with the monthly RSI over 77.88, and the distance to it is stated every session in both directions.
Monday's index closes, the sector and single-name moves, the NYSE breadth count, the Treasury closes, the oil and gold settlements and the dollar are from Cappnotes, Investrade and TheStreet; the pre-market picture and the Fed commentary from Yahoo Finance; the Brent and WTI settlements, the Russia sanctions waiver, the Houthi claims, the Kpler flow data and the analyst remarks from Reuters via Yahoo Finance; the Lavrov visit, the Netanyahu call, the Riyadh alert, the Shabwa strike and the investment-conference postponement from the CBS live blog; the tanker-mine claim from Al Arabiya / AFP; the Iranian and Russian statements from The American Conservative; the high-yield spread from FRED as rendered on the chart. Every chart value is from Core_Charts_20261020.pdf, Gen 3, 55 of 55 core charts resolved by manifest label, captured 06:15 Singapore Tuesday; live prices from the 06:40 capture, which is Monday's post-close board. Sixteen flags, of which these matter most. The gold chart's Monday close is an 18:20 New York print on a bar that may extend through the evening session; it is corroborated by the board's implied day close and the futures settle, and the fill is booked on it with the caveat stated. The CoreWeave price move differs by source and is not used. The Dow's change carries a sign conflict in one source. China's third-quarter GDP rests on one source. The ten-year is 5.14 on the chart and 5.14 to 5.15 on the wires; the chart governs. No wire close was found for the high-yield ETF; the chart rendered a daily bar this session and is carried as such. The spread chart shows Friday's print. The summation charts' header changes match their oscillators this session. The equity put-call header implies no revision for the first time in seven sessions. Intraday sequences — the voided fade, the doorway fill and the S&P's non-trigger — are read from 30-minute images that resolve about four to five Nasdaq-100 points, under one S&P point and two VIX cents, calibrated to the session's high and low; they are not tick data. Asian cash opens and Tuesday's gold were not available at the time of writing. The sentiment surveys are last week's prints and update on Thursday. Carried values are not presented as Monday prints.
What repaired: the chips ended an eight-session losing streak, the members' share over their 50-day re-crossed 40, the VIX faded to its 200-day and the leg-3 regime ended by its own rule. What did not: the Nasdaq-100 failed 75 points under its 50-day and four under the line that retires the rollover read, then closed back under the shelf it had re-taken; the count did not move by a hundredth; the broad market was sold under the bounce; Brent settled over the step a second time; nothing was signed. No line closed, so no weight moves: shock 36, rollover 34, range 22, bull 8. The gold bracket's short leg filled at 4,141 and is carried. The tactical lines are 29,461 and 29,561–29,619 for the Nasdaq-100 with the structural at 29,793–29,916 over them, and 7,685 and 7,698–7,715 for the S&P, all at stated size and all flat by 15:30 for Netflix. The next decision points are the 10:30 bar, the daily close against 29,793 and 29,864, and the VIX against 19.
