The Nasdaq-100 fell 2.90% to 28,958.69 on Thursday, gapping through its retirement line; the S&P 500 fell 1.21% to 7,663.43 and the VIX closed 19.03. The index opened 518 points under Wednesday's close — a daily gap, the first since 13 October — under the retirement line [the daily EMA-5, whose loss on a close re-instates the rollover read], lost its daily band floor and the top of the August launch gap by midday, printed 28,855 and closed inside that gap; the semiconductor index fell 6.72% with all thirty members down while staples rose 3.31% to a record, the equal-weight S&P rose 0.73% and advancers beat decliners three to two. The ten-year fell 17 basis points to 4.96%, its largest one-day drop since March 2023, as the AI build was repriced; December Brent settled $113.17, the highest since May, after the New York Times reported US and Israeli plans for strikes on Iran after the midterms and Washington ordered non-emergency staff out of Saudi Arabia. Gold fell 2.71% to 4,028.67 and the framework's rate gate closed the carried short at about +112. At 06:39 Singapore Friday (18:39 New York Thursday, the post-close board) the Nasdaq-100 CFD was 28,960.0 — flat on the cash close — the S&P CFD 7,673.2, Brent 112.92, gold 4,030.95 and the VIX future 19.28, a quarter over the spot.

The retirement line was lost on a gap, and the rollover read is re-instated. The Nasdaq-100 opened at 29,304.30 on the Meta and Lam prints — 518 points under Wednesday's close and 182 under Wednesday's low, which makes it a daily gap, the forty-ninth in the log and the first since 13 October. The open was already under the daily EMA-5 at 29,477, the 69-day at 29,563, the 100-day at 29,589 and the 20-week at 29,541: four averages lost in one print. By midday the index had lost its daily band floor at 29,033 and the top of the 4 August launch gap at 29,109; it printed 28,855.10 in the afternoon, 78 points over that gap's floor, and closed 28,958.69, down 2.90%, the worst day since June. The close is 518 under the fresh daily EMA-5 with the count at 42.57, which is the written condition for re-instating the rollover read, and it re-instates: four points back to the rollover path, two from the shock path and two from the range path. By the same rule the structural short re-arms, keyed to the daily EMA-5 of the day the line printed — 29,477 — at an eighth. It is an eighth consecutive close under 30,583, the first close outside the daily band since the 12 October spike, and the daily stochastic's bull cross of Wednesday reversed under 20.
The S&P lost its 20-day and never saw its 50-day, while half the market went up. The S&P 500 opened 7 points under Wednesday's low — a six-point gap, #50 — and its high of 7,702.94 was 21 cents under the 50-day at 7,703.15; it closed 7,663.43, down 1.21%, 70 under the 20-day it had reclaimed on Wednesday, which returns to the shock path the two points the range path took that day. The 69-day at 7,662.75 held the close to 68 cents. Underneath, the market was bought: staples rose 3.31% to a record (Procter & Gamble +5.6%), utilities 2.07%, health care 1.32% to a record, real estate and financials 1.09%; technology fell 3.29% and communication services 1.42%. The equal-weight S&P rose 0.73%, the Dow was flat, the Russell up 0.11%; NYSE advancers beat decliners 2,319 to 1,596; the S&P logged 47 new highs, the most since July; the semiconductor index fell 6.72% to its lowest since 29 July with all thirty members down. Thursday a week ago the NYSE rose and the chips were flat; then the NYSE up and the chips down 2.5%; the NYSE down and the chips up 1.2%; the NYSE up 0.9% and the chips flat; the chips up 1.1% and the NYSE flat; and on Thursday the NYSE up a tenth with the Nasdaq-100 down 2.9%. Six sessions, six splits, the broad side four of them, and the sixth the widest.
The VIX re-took its fixed line and the 19 line on one close, and the contango collapsed. The spot opened 18.29 — over Wednesday's high, a gap (#51, 17.58–17.71) — printed 20.31 in the afternoon and closed 19.03, up 14.09%: back over the fixed 17.45 line, which restores to the shock path the two points it gave back on Wednesday, and over 19 on a daily close, which re-starts the leg-3 regime by the rule written when it ended on 19 October. The 30-minute closes over 19 were the countertrend leg; no tactical short was filled to cover. The front future on the post-close board is 19.28 — a quarter over the spot. On Wednesday the future was a dollar-eighty over the spot and this issue called the basis the gap; the spot closed it from below in a session. The term structure inverted intraday a third time in five sessions; the VIX of the VIX rose 14% to 107.94, over its 200-day.
The ten-year closed under 5.00, and the gold short closed with it — at a profit. The ten-year fell 17 basis points to 4.96% on the chart, its largest one-day drop since March 2023; the two-year fell 17 to 4.65, the thirty-year 13 to 5.28, and the long-bond ETF rose 1.87% through its 50-day. It is the first close at or under 5.00 since the shock path's fast rate input was booked on two closes over it, and the input lapses. No weight line was written for the way down — the framework wrote the input in on two closes and wrote nothing for its exit — so no weight moves today, and a line is written: a second consecutive close at or under 5.00 moves two points from the shock path to the range path; a close back over 5.00 re-arms the input. The same 5.00 line was the carried gold short's exit, and it fired: gold fell 2.71% to 4,028.67, through the old first target at 4,044 and under its daily band floor, and the sixteenth from 4,141 closed at the daily close for about +112 — the first of nine gold structures in this leg to pay. The ten-year fell for the AI tape's reasons on the day oil settled at a five-month high; the bond market read Meta's commitments and Lam's constraints and not the strait.
Breadth split along the same seam. The Nasdaq-100's count fell 4.95 to 42.57 — five members turned their point-and-figure columns to a sell — back under 45 after one close over it and 7.43 from the 50 line that would lapse the structural-short licence, which was 2.48 away on Wednesday. Its advance-decline percent closed −0.99: half the members rose on a day the index lost 864 points, which says the fall was Meta, Nvidia, AMD, Micron, Lam and the capex complex, not the hundred. Against that: the S&P's count rose 0.80 to 49.60, 0.40 from the line that exits the broad tier and issues no S&P short; 60.6% of S&P members closed over their 50-day, the thrust-confirm print on the S&P's side; the NYSE oscillator printed +32.14, a new high of the leg, and its summation rose a sixth time; the transports closed 20,294, over 20,000 for the first time after four sessions of printing it and selling, which is the second repair print the rollover path's internal watch was waiting for; the equity put-call ratio printed 0.86, over the 0.85 line that re-arms the countertrend leg. The Nasdaq oscillator stayed positive by 4.72 and its summation rose a second time. The index broke on its weights with its breadth repairing under it.
Oil and the strait. December Brent settled $113.17, up 4.00%, the highest settlement since 4 May and an eleventh over 101; the four-year high of $114.44 is $1.27 away. The settle is back over the 109.45 step two sessions after two settles under it gave the shock path's two points back — and the rule holds: the reversal was written on consecutive settles under, and a settle back over does not un-book it; the next oil-side weight line is 120, which is R14's fourth step and equity to 10%. The settle is also over the daily band top at 111.96, which re-arms the step-4 watch by its written re-arm. The New York Times reported that the US and Israeli militaries have drawn up plans for a short, intensive round of strikes on Iran after the 3 November midterms — nuclear sites including Pickaxe Mountain, the missile and drone arsenal, energy targets that may avoid refineries, three carriers and thousands of Marines in place by early November — and that the President has not approved them. The President said "something one way or the other" will "happen fairly soon", that he thinks the war "is going to end immediately after the election" and that he believes "we'll make a deal right after the election", and accused Iran of inventing "fake hits" on tankers to lift oil before the vote. The State Department confirmed its ordered departure applies to Saudi Arabia only; Aramco told its Dhahran headquarters staff to work remotely; the Houthis hit Dammam's airport (one dead, eight wounded) and the Shaybah field (two dead); the Revolutionary Guard's navy claimed four vessels hit in the northern Gulf and three mined west of Hormuz, and state television counted seven tankers damaged or on fire; the UK maritime agency logged a record twelve attacks in a week. Hormuz flows were put at 11.7 million barrels a day, about 82% of pre-war, with Gulf exports over pre-war levels by bypass routes. Tehran said there would be no direct talks until the blockade ends and frozen funds are released. Nothing was signed; a plan is not a strike; outright index longs stay struck.
Rates and the Fed. The fast rate input lapsed, but the regime did not change: escalation-3 stays withdrawn a tenth session, 29 basis points from the 5.25 line that re-books it, and the 4.94 line that would be the first withdrawal is two basis points under the close. The dollar closed 101.60, under its 10-day a sixth day and its 20-day a third — which is why the gold add-rung's dollar gate did not print on the day gold closed under 4,105: the two gates diverged a fourth time, and the rung is retired. One prediction market prices a hold next week at 90.5%; the futures market prices an October hike at 7% and a December hike at 76%, down from 88%. Jobless claims fell to 194,000, a three-month low. The Fed is in blackout to the 28th.
Credit. The high-yield ETF closed 92.51 on a weekly render, up 23 cents on a day the S&P fell 1.2% — bought with duration, not with the tape; a thirty-first close under 95. The spread series posted Wednesday's print at 3.27, six basis points narrower, 23 from the 3.50 line; Thursday's print posts Friday. Meta's five-year credit default swap printed a record near 119 basis points on its $825 billion of lease and contract commitments and its first cash outflow in a decade — a single-name read, not the index. The ladders stay shut by 2.49.
The monthly divergence. October's running bar holds a higher high than June on a monthly RSI of 64.91 against 77.88 — the gap widened to 12.97 from 9.11 — and the bar is 1,450 points under September's close, down 4.77% on the month with five sessions left: a record print followed by a down month is the shape the divergence describes, and it is printing. The running bar sits under its monthly EMA-5 for the first time since April. The one-month central range, 28,564–30,294, held a fourth session, tested from the inside for the first time, by 395. The year-end band, 27,500–29,800, has the index back inside it by 841; the review trigger written on Wednesday — a second consecutive close over 29,800 with the count over 50 — did not come close. The verdict is the monthly close on 30 October.
Three lines un-printed on one close, and the matrix is back where it stood from 19 to 21 October after a round trip on six closes. The rollover path's re-instatement line (a daily close back under the daily EMA-5 with the count under 50) printed by 518: four points back, two from each of the other two paths. The range path's S&P line (a daily close back under 7,733) printed by 70: two back to the shock path. The shock path's volatility line (a VIX daily close back over 17.45) printed by 1.58: two more from the range path. One thing printed with no weight attached, because none was written: the ten-year's close at or under 5.00 lapsed the shock path's fast rate input, and the line for the way down is written today, not booked. Not printed: 28,777 on a close (the low was 78 over it, and the count is 2.57 over 40 besides); 22.31 (the high was 20.31); 120 (6.83 away); the S&P's count at 50 (0.40 away); the third advance-decline close over +800 (+386 on the chart, +723 on the wire — a 337-point difference between the two sources, the widest logged, flagged).
Path D rises 2 to 36% and is modal by two. It gave two to the rollover path on the re-instatement line and took two from the range path on the S&P's 20-day and two more on the VIX's 17.45. What it keeps: a $113 settle, the highest since May, back over the step and 6.83 from the line that adds two and takes equity to 10%; a reported strike plan with targets, a date range and carriers; an ordered departure and an emptied headquarters; a VIX back over 19 with its term structure inverting intraday; a spread 23 basis points from 3.50. What it lost: its rate input, which lapsed on a 17-basis-point fall that had the AI tape's reasons and not the strait's. D takes two on a VIX daily close over 22.31 or a 120 settle, four on a ten-year close back over 5.25, two on a spread over 3.50 and two on a Composite close under 23,425; it gives two to the range path on a daily S&P close back over 7,733, two on a second consecutive ten-year close at or under 5.00, and two on a VIX daily close back under 17.45 with the Brent settle back under 109.45.
Path C rises 4 to 34%: its read is back on price and its licence stands on the count. The line it was retired on printed the other way one session later, from a gap, and the structural keyed to it re-arms at 29,477. What C has: an eighth close under 30,583; a daily gap down that opened under four averages; a close outside the daily band; the top of the launch gap lost; a month down 4.8% on a monthly reading 12.97 under June's; the count back under 45; the semiconductor index at a July low with all thirty members down. Against it, the caution its own internal watch raises: the transports' second repair print is in, half the members are over their 50-day, and the Nasdaq-100's own advance-decline percent read 49 to 51 on the day. C retires again on a daily close back over 29,477 with the count over 40 (four points away); it takes two more from the range path on a daily close under 28,777 with the count under 40, and gives two on the third advance-decline close over +800.
Path B falls 6 to 22% — all of Wednesday's gain given back. Two to the rollover path on the re-instatement line, two to the shock path on the S&P's 20-day, two to the shock path on the VIX. What B keeps is the sixth split and the widest: 2,319 advancers, two record sectors, the transports over 20,000, the NYSE oscillator at the high of the leg, 60% of S&P members over their 50-day, the Nasdaq-100's members split evenly on a −2.9% day. The broad market is doing the range path's work underneath an index that fell on its weights — and the framework scores the index, which is why the path lost weight on the day its evidence was strongest. B takes two from D on a daily S&P close back over 7,733 and on a second ten-year close at or under 5.00; two from C on a third advance-decline close over +800; and two each from C and D when the rollover read retires again on a daily close over 29,477.
Path A holds at 8%. The count moved 4.95 away from its gate after moving toward it two sessions running; high-yield is 2.49 under 95. A plan for strikes after the midterms is the opposite of a signature.
The gold short closed by its gate, at about +112, and the halving the day before is scored against it. Option 07 carried a sixteenth from 4,141 with two exits: a daily close back over 4,161, and a ten-year daily close at or under 5.00. The ten-year closed 4.96 and the structure closed at Thursday's daily close, 4,028.67 on the chart, 4,030.95 on the board — about +112 at a sixteenth, with the old first target at 4,044 printed on the way. Booked. It is the first of nine gold structures in this leg to pay, and it paid for a reason outside its thesis: the trade was a rates-up gold short, gold fell on the day rates fell 17 basis points, and the gate took the profit the thesis had earned. Stated at full cost: the dollar clause halved this trade on Wednesday and the released sixteenth was scored at about −1; that sixteenth would have earned the same +112 on Thursday. The halving rule paid its clause before its thesis and cost half the trade. Option 08, the add-rung, needed gold under 4,105 and the dollar over 102.06 on the same close; gold printed its gate and the dollar did not — the gates diverged a fourth time, and the rung is retired.
Both sell-stops were stood down by their own gap lines on the day the gap was the trade, and the rule is rewritten. Option 02 was a sell-stop under 29,716 with a clause that an open under Wednesday's low at 29,594 stands it down; the open was 29,304, and it stood down. The index fell a further 345 points to the close and 449 to the low. Option 05 was the S&P's equivalent under 7,733 with a stand-down under 7,709; the open was 7,694.62, and it stood down; the index closed 31 lower. A gain that may not exist is not claimed — the stand-down was a rule and it bound — but the cost is stated: a half-size clause fill near the open, carried to the close, would have been about +345 on the Nasdaq-100 at an eighth and about +31 on the S&P at a sixteenth. The line was written to keep the book from chasing a gap; it refused the gap's continuation instead, on both indices, on the one day that mattered. From this issue the stand-down is deleted: a cash open more than one per cent beyond a sell-stop's trigger fills at half size on the first post-10:30 close that holds under the session's open — the open becomes the trigger.
The VIX doorway was keyed two dollars under the day. Option 06 needed a post-10:30 print under 16.51 and a close back over 17.03. The spot opened 18.29, printed 20.31 and never came within 1.20 of the pullback print. No fill, no cost, and no gain claimed — but the structure was the set's hedge against the overnight going wrong, and when it went wrong the hedge was not there to catch it. The design is owned and re-keyed to the new floor. VIX fills are not verifiable inside this pipeline.
The fades were not reached; the bracket's first gate never printed. Option 01 needed a print inside 29,867–29,928; the high was 29,411.76, 455 under the zone. Option 04 needed 7,769–7,779; the high was 7,702.94. Option 03, the re-instatement bracket, needed a 50-day retest before the retirement line was lost; the line was lost by 777 without a retest, so the bracket never armed — the daily close it was built to anticipate printed, and the structural it was meant to pre-fill re-arms by rule instead. No cost on any of the three.
Thursday's map: zero of five. The Nasdaq-100 closed 28,958.69 against a range of 29,571–30,074 — 613 under the floor, the widest miss of the leg; the S&P 7,663 against 7,717–7,797; the VIX 19.03 against 15.7–17.6; the ten-year 4.96 against 5.03–5.23; Brent 113.17 against 105–113, over by 17 cents. It is the first zero since the no-lean rule was written. Wednesday was an upside miss and Thursday a downside miss, so by the rule — which is written on direction, not on count — the width stays at one times the wider of the last two true ranges; the width itself triples, because Thursday's true range was 967.
Calls that resolved. "The day is decided at 16:00 against 29,736 — under it, with the count under 50, the rollover read returns" printed, by 777. "A VIX daily close back over 17.45 restores two to the shock path" printed. Wednesday's issue said the 5.00 line that closes the gold short had "moved away" by two basis points; it printed by seventeen the next day — the level was right, the distance read meant nothing, and it is said. "The 10:30 bar is the first read" — it read about 29,330, under every line in the set, and decided nothing the open had not already decided; the first read was the open, by 518. "Intel reports after the close" was wrong: Intel reports on 29 October, and the 15:30 time box was written on a binary that did not exist. Every tactical was flat by 15:30 regardless, but the calendar is this pipeline's to get right and it did not. The structural was retired on Wednesday after seven arms, one session before the day its line was written for; its re-arm is the set's first structure.

Win probability is the framework's estimate that the first target prints before the stop within one day to one week, conditional on the trigger firing; it is not a backtest. It is calibrated to the scenario weights, to how each structure type has behaved across the last thirty days of issues — sell-stops paid twice under their clauses on 17 October and were then armed by their clauses three times without filling and stood down by their gap lines on Thursday, on the day they would have paid; fades met their triggers three times this month for a scratch, an unclaimed gain and a claimed loss, missed by four points on 16 October, were voided by rule on three consecutive sessions and were not reached on Thursday; the structural armed seven times, filled never, retired on Wednesday and re-arms today; the doorway long filled cleanly on 19 October, scratched, and was keyed two dollars under the day on Thursday; the gold short was the first of nine gold structures to be onside and the first to pay, at +112 after its own clause had halved it — and to the distance from the last price. All eight sit under 50% and carry the muted pill: lower-odds, higher-payoff structures. No outright index long is issued, because nothing is signed. Three structures are unconventional: Option 01 expresses the structural's re-arm as an intraday retest; Options 07 and 08 are a one-gate bracket in gold, the ten-year's side of 5.00 at the close deciding which exists.
| # | Structure | Win prob. | Instrument | Side |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | NDX — the structural re-armed, expressed at the gap top: sell the first post-10:30 30-minute close back under 29,109 after a post-10:30 print over it; eighth size; carries into the FOMC week | ~36% | NDX (USTECH CFD) | Short (structural retest, eighth size) |
| 02 | NDX — the gap #49 fill fade: sell a rejection close back under 29,412 after a post-10:30 print inside 29,412–29,594 — the board 452 under the zone, armed and not chased | ~30% | NDX (USTECH CFD) | Short (rejection) |
| 03 | NDX — the sell-stop under Thursday's low with the gap-through rule: sell a holding close under 28,855 after a 28,958 print — the board 105 over the trigger | ~34% | NDX (USTECH CFD) | Short (sell-stop) |
| 04 | SPX — the 50-day / gap #50 fade with the bank rung, half size under the review: sell a rejection close back under 7,703 after a post-10:30 print inside 7,703–7,733 | ~30% | SPX (US500 CFD) | Short (rejection + bank rung, half size) |
| 05 | SPX — the sell-stop under Thursday's low, half size, with the gap-through rule: sell a holding close under 7,637 after a 7,663 print — the board 36 over the trigger | ~30% | SPX (US500 CFD) | Short (sell-stop, half size) |
| 06 | VIX — the doorway re-entry over 18.80 after a post-10:30 print under 18.21, re-keyed to Thursday's floor; full size to 19.07, half to 19.29, none above | ~30% | VIX (CFD, spot-referenced) | Long (convexity, tapered) |
| 07 | XAUUSD — the gate-inversion long: buy a daily close back over 4,056 only with the ten-year at or under 5.00 a second day; sixteenth (unconventional) | ~28% | XAUUSD (CFD) | Long (conditional, sixteenth size) |
| 08 | XAUUSD — the short re-armed on the gate: sell a daily close under 4,021 only with the ten-year back over 5.00 the same day; sixteenth (unconventional) | ~24% | XAUUSD (CFD) | Short (conditional, sixteenth size) |
The base case is a session inside 28,475–29,442 with a close between 28,669 and 29,249 — the no-lean range, centred on Thursday's close at one times the wider of the last two true ranges, which is Thursday's 967; the top of the range is the floor of gap #49. The S&P maps to 7,603–7,723 with a close of 7,627–7,699, Thursday's 120-point true range re-centred; the VIX to 17.3–20.8, the ten-year to 4.84–5.08 and the December Brent settle to 108–118. The reasoning runs in four steps. The index closed 150 under the launch gap's top and 182 over its floor, inside a gap on a gap day, with the board flat on the close overnight — the first time in a week the post-close board has not leaned. The daily stochastic reversed under 20 and the 30-minute RSI is 29.6: the oversold that produced Wednesday's run is back, one frame lower. Half the Nasdaq-100's members and sixty per cent of the S&P's are over their 50-day, and 2,319 issues advanced — the broad market has not followed. So the levels are 29,109 and 29,412–29,594 over the board, where the structural's retest and the gap fade are armed; 28,855 and 28,777 under it, where the sell-stop and the rollover path's next line sit. The decision line is 29,477 at 16:00 — a daily close over it with the count over 40 retires the rollover read again; a daily close under 28,777 with the count under 40 adds two to it. The first read is the 10:30 bar. The sequence of those moves is not called.
The base case is 28,564–29,594 inside 28,274–30,583, and the week's question is which side of 29,477 the index closes on Friday and Monday, because the structural is armed on one side of that line and retires on the other. The FOMC decides on Wednesday the 28th with a hold about 90% priced; Israel votes on the 27th; Intel reports on the 29th; October closes on the 30th. The tests: 29,477 and 29,109 on the Nasdaq-100, 7,703–7,733 and 7,637 on the S&P; the Nasdaq-100's count against 40 (2.57 away — under it with the members' share under 40 the July analog re-enters) and both counts against 50 (the structural licence lapses 7.43 away; the S&P short issue withdraws 0.40 away); the ten-year against 5.00 a second time (D −2) and 4.94; the VIX against 19 (the regime), 20.31 (the cover line) and 22.31 (D +2); the Brent settle against the four-year high at 114.44 and 120; the spread against 3.50; the NYSE oscillator against +50 (the thrust confirm, 17.86 away); and the strait, where the reported strike window opens after 3 November and the week's binaries are a central bank and an election. If the index holds under 29,477 through Monday and loses 28,777 with the count under 40, the rollover and shock paths are level at 36; if it closes back over 29,477 on Friday, the read retires a second time in three sessions and the matrix returns to Wednesday's shape. The downside path inside the week runs 28,855, 28,777, 28,564, 28,440–28,274, 28,060 (the weekly band floor), 27,820 (the 200-day), 27,772 (the running quarterly EMA-5) and 27,753 (the 61.8%) — the last three now within 67 points of each other; for the S&P, 7,637, 7,621, 7,600, 7,560, 7,521 and 7,344.
October holds a higher high than June on a lower monthly momentum reading, sixteen sessions in, with the gap between the readings at 12.97 — wider than Wednesday's 9.11 after the 2.9% close — and the running bar 1,450 points under September's close with five sessions left, a high of 31,361 and a low of 28,855. The shape the divergence describes — a record print, then a down month — is printing. The one-month central range, 28,564–30,294, held a fourth session and is unchanged: the close is 395 over its floor, tested from the inside for the first time. The upside path still needs five conditions and the count moved away from the one it had approached: a signed Hormuz date, two Brent settles under 101 against a settle of 113.17, high-yield over 95 (2.49 away), the ten-year under 4.90 (six basis points away — the closest of the five) and the count over 50 (7.43 away). The verdict is the monthly close: over 31,117 with the monthly RSI over 77.88 invalidates — 2,158 points and 12.97 RSI points away with five sessions left, which is not reachable; a close under 30,408.50 makes October a down month after a record print, and the bar is 1,450 under it.
Six months out the central case is a 27,000–31,600 range with downward drift while the monthly divergence resolves; the top of that range is unchanged for an eleventh issue, and the index sits in the range's lower-middle after Thursday, 1,959 over its floor. Six sessions of the two sides splitting — the broad market up on the chips' worst day since June — is rotation inside a range, not a resolution of it; the range path lost weight on Thursday because the index it is scored on fell, not because its evidence weakened. A ten-year that fell 17 basis points for the AI tape's reasons and a Fed that may be done after October lift the multiple's floor; a $113 settle and a reported strike window cap it. A Hormuz reopening remains both the largest upside input and the largest sell-the-news for the war-bid assets, gold first; a return to strikes remains the largest downside input, and a plan with targets and a date range arrived on the same day as a four per cent settle. To year-end the conditional base case stays 27,500–29,800 for the Nasdaq-100 and 7,100–7,700 for the S&P. The Nasdaq-100 is back inside its band by 841 after one close over its top; the S&P is 37 under the top of its own. The band is a framework output conditional on the divergence holding, not a forecast; it is withdrawn if October closes over 31,117 with the monthly RSI over 77.88, and the review trigger written on Wednesday for a second close over its top did not print.
Thursday's index closes, the sector table, the breadth count, the Treasury closes, the Brent and WTI settlements, the Fed odds and the Iran items are from the Cappnotes closing look; the semiconductor, Meta, Tesla and Moderna moves, the ten-year's path and the New York Times strike report from Yahoo Finance; the breadth internals, the new-lows streak, the CME FedWatch odds and the sector rotation from TheStreet Pro; the strike-plan detail, the President's statements and Iran's conditions from Time and Cornerstone Futures; the Saudi-only scope of the ordered departure and the Aramco headquarters from CNBC Africa; the Houthi casualties, the tanker claims and the EIA draw from EnergyNow and The Nation; the Brent CFD corroboration from Trading Economics; Meta's guidance and the early session from Schwab. Every chart value is from Core_Charts_20261023.pdf, Gen 3, 55 of 55 core charts resolved by manifest label, captured 06:19 Singapore Friday; live prices from the 06:39 capture, the Thursday post-close board. Nine flags, of which these matter most. The Brent settlement is printed by one wire and corroborated by a CFD quote, not by a second settlement print. The advance-decline chart closes +386 while the wire counts 2,319 advancers to 1,596 decliners — a 337 difference, the widest logged; the chart governs the tracker and the wire is logged. The Nasdaq and NYSE summation charts are weekly renders whose header deltas are week-to-date, and the closes used are reconciled from the prior close plus the oscillator. The breadth vendor's chart prints a Nasdaq-100 count high 0.99 over Wednesday's recorded close and implies a third revision to the equity put-call series in three sessions; both are flagged, not restated. No hourly gold record exists, so the gold short is scored at the daily close by rule. The sentiment surveys are fresh this session. Intraday sequences are read from 30-minute images that resolve about four to five Nasdaq-100 points, under one S&P point and two VIX cents. The Intel calendar error was the pipeline's, not the capture's. Carried values are not presented as Thursday prints.
What repaired: nothing on the index — and almost everything under it. The Nasdaq-100 gapped through its retirement line and closed outside its daily band inside the August launch gap; the rollover read is re-instated, the structural re-arms at 29,477, the S&P gave its 20-day back and the VIX took its lines back, and the matrix returned to last week's weights on three closes. Underneath, 2,319 issues advanced, two sectors printed records, the transports closed over 20,000 and the NYSE oscillator printed the high of the leg: the index broke on its weights with its breadth repairing. The ten-year's 5.00 line closed the gold short at +112; the stand-down line that kept both sell-stops out of the day is deleted. The tactical lines are 29,109, 29,412–29,594 and 28,855 for the Nasdaq-100, 7,703–7,733 and 7,637 for the S&P at half size, all flat by 15:30; the structural carries. The next decision points are the 10:30 bar, the 16:00 close against 29,477 and 28,777, the FOMC on Wednesday, and the strait.
