The Fed held at 3.75–4.00% on Wednesday and the Nasdaq-100 rose 0.55% to 29,813.16; the S&P 500 rose 0.28% to 7,743.98 and the VIX closed 16.91. The vote was 10–2 with Cook and Hammack dissenting for a hike, and Chair Warsh declined to commit to December (priced at about 85%). The ten-year closed 5.02% on the chart — back over 5% after four closes at or under — and the two-year fell four basis points, so the curve steepened on a hold; December Brent settled near $114.14 [the exact exchange figure was not published on the wire; flagged], a fifteenth settlement over 101 with two left before Friday's expiry; nothing was signed on Hormuz — Tehran called Qatar's draft "not an offer" and the Journal reported Washington telling the Gulf to prepare for a possible post-midterm campaign. After the close Alphabet fell 8–11% on a capex guide for 2027 "significantly" higher with free cash flow negative a second quarter, Microsoft rose 2–6% on Azure +48% with capex under the estimate, and at 06:43 Singapore the Nasdaq-100 December future was 29,664.5, down 1.05% — about 29,500 on the cash equivalent — with the S&P future down 0.42%, the VIX future 18.93, gold 4,055.12 and January Brent 110.72; PCE and GDP print at 08:30 and Amazon and Intel report after the close.

The ten-year took 5% back in the press conference, and the mirror line printed to the letter. The ten-year closed 5.02% on the chart — opened 5.00, printed 5.05 while the chair was speaking, 4.99 at the low — and 5.024% on the post-close board: the first close over 5.00 after four consecutive closes at or under it. The line written on 23 October said a close back over 5.00 returns the two points that the second consecutive close under it had given from the shock path to the range path; it did, and they went back. The two-year fell four basis points to 4.71% and the thirty-year rose three to 5.35%, so the curve steepened five basis points on a day the policy rate did not move — the bond market's reading of a Fed that held with two votes to hike, upgraded growth to "strong", kept inflation "elevated" and would not promise December. The D-fast input is re-armed by one close; a second consecutive close over 5.00 completes it, and a close back at or under 5.00 on Thursday — PCE at 08:30, a seven-year auction at 13:00 — returns the two points the other way. The dollar closed 102.17, over the old 102.06 line a second day but down a fifth of a percent as the chair spoke; the twenty-year bond ETF fell 0.78%.
The S&P closed over its 20-day for the first time since the break, and the range path's line printed on the same close. The S&P 500 opened 7,735.56 — 0.68 under Tuesday's high, no gap — dipped to 7,718.37 on the statement, printed 7,758.43 into the 13 August gap in the press conference and closed 7,743.98, up 0.28%: 9.6 over the 20-day at 7,734.34 (the line was written at 7,730 on Tuesday's set; it printed either way), 0.9 under the top of the 18 August band at 7,744.88, and a second close over the 50-day. The written rule moves two points from the shock path to the range path on a daily close over the 20-day; it moved them, and the ten-year's close moved them back inside the same minute. Energy led, real estate and utilities fell with the ten-year over 5%, and the futures put the index back under the 20-day — about 7,711 on the cash equivalent — before the night was over, so the line that printed is the first thing Thursday scores.
The Nasdaq-100 closed on its 50-day, and the year-end band review has its first close. The index opened 29,732.04 — twelve points over Tuesday's high, a gap logged as #53 and filled at 29,618.42 before the decision — held 29,650–29,780 through the framework's box, dipped on the statement and ran to 29,848.71 during the press conference, closing 29,813.16, up 0.55%. That is 6 points over the 50-day line as written on Tuesday's set (29,807) with the count at 58.42, which is the first of the two consecutive closes over 29,800 that trigger the year-end band review; it is also 0.18 under the 50-day as re-read on Wednesday's set (29,813.34), and both facts are logged — the line as written printed, the average as re-read did not. The close is 13 over the band's top, 105 over the weekly EMA-5 at 29,708 (the bull path's first weekly requirement, on a Friday close), inside the 18 August chip gap (filled further from below to 29,849, with 29,849–29,972 still open) and inside the 21 September oil gap by 165; a twelfth consecutive close under 30,583. The 50-day stack the fade was written on was not tested before 13:30 — the first print inside 29,807–29,979 came after 14:30, when the box had already shut every structure — so there was no fill and nothing to score but the clock.
The count added five and is one up-day from the binary. Five Nasdaq-100 members turned their point-and-figure columns to a buy and the bullish-percent count printed 58.42, a second close over 50 and 1.58 under the 60 line. That line is the framework's binary regime trigger: a single count close over 60 suspends every short in the book from the next session, and two consecutive closes back under 60 revoke the suspension. It is written here before it prints, so that if Thursday's close takes the count through it the suspension is a rule applied and not a decision made on the day. The S&P's count printed 55.00, a fourth close over 50; the Nasdaq summation rose a third consecutive session with the Nasdaq oscillator at +32.29, and that pair of prints lifts the halving rule for longs by its own rule — a lift the framework logs and does not use, because nothing is signed and the headline protocol, not the sizing rule, governs whether an outright index long exists. The NYSE high-low index crossed 30 for the first time since 3 October, which moves the sizing gate to tier 2 mechanically and changes nothing in the book, because R14's 20% cap binds over it.
The VIX closed under the fixed line, and the decision's spike never came. The spot opened 17.47, printed 17.77 on the opening bar and was sold through the morning to 16.21 at the decision; the post-decision session's high was under 17.00 and it closed 16.91, down 3.48% — under 17.45 on a daily close for the first time since the 21 October break. That is the volatility half of the rule that gives two points back from the shock path to the range path; the oil half, a settlement under 109.45, did not print, and both halves must print on one close, so no weight moves. The vol fade written for Thursday on the decision's own spike had no spike to read: the 18.86 qualifier was never approached, and the three-for-three pattern of FOMC afternoons that the structure was built on failed on the fourth. The pattern is retired as a reason; the qualifier that kept the fade out stays as a rule, because the November future closed 18.93 — two dollars and two cents over the spot, the widest contango of the leg — and a −1% futures open is the shape in which the cash VIX opens over its 200-day and is sold back under it by lunch, which is the trade the fade is now written on.
Oil and the strait. December Brent recovered from two sessions of losses, printed $116.50 — $1.16 under its daily band top — and settled near $114.14, up a quarter: a fifteenth settlement over 101 and $5.86 from the 120 line that is R14's fourth step and two points to the shock path, with two December settlements left before Friday's expiry. The exact exchange settlement was not published on any page the framework could reach; the chart's post-settlement print of 114.14 is adopted as the working figure, Trading Economics' "settled near $114" and 114.20 ticker are the cross-check, and the number is flagged for reconciliation on the next capture. WTI settled back over $100 after one day under. The EIA reported a 1.9 million barrel crude draw against an expected build, a 3.9 million gasoline build and a distillate draw; the strategic reserve sits at a 1982 low. On the diplomacy: a senior Iranian official called Qatar's new draft "unacceptable ideas and not an offer" and Tehran will respond by the end of the week; the foreign minister said late Wednesday that Tehran is discussing with the mediators how to implement its own seven-day plan to end the war and reopen Hormuz; Axios reported the Qatar-led mediators want a deal before the 3 November midterms. On the other side: the Journal reported that Washington has told the Gulf states to prepare for a possible short, intense campaign after the midterms with no final decision taken, the president would not rule out fresh strikes, and the blockade of Iranian ports continues with boardings. Riyadh confirmed the interception of two missiles at the capital, three in the Eastern Province and four drones; the refinery the Houthis claimed to have struck reported no confirmed damage, and a source told Bloomberg a fire near the export terminal was contained. Israel's exit polls gave no bloc 61 seats and the prime minister spoke of a "unique opportunity" on Iran; an IDF strike hit south Lebanon. About 492 vessels were waiting outside the strait on 25 October. Nothing was signed; a plan in discussion is not a signature; outright index longs stay struck. The watchlist's Brent quote is the January contract at 110.72 — about $3.40 under December, a roll and not a settle.
Rates and the Fed, scored. Escalation-3 stays withdrawn a fourteenth session, 23 basis points from the 5.25 line; the 4.94 first-withdrawal line is eight basis points under the close. The Fed's own words, for the record: the committee "decided to maintain" the range, growth is expanding "at a strong pace", "inflation remains elevated", and "the accumulation of more information will help the Committee determine" the stance toward a "timely return" to 2%; the chair said forward guidance needs "exceptional circumstances", that the Fed "has not achieved price stability" and does not have an implicit higher target, that markets have tightened on their own since September, that a further hike could add pressure with the ten-year over 5% and AI borrowers strained, that he is "not willing to call financial conditions tight", and that the balance-sheet review reaches the committee "probably early in Q1"; from 2027 one of the eight meetings becomes a strategy session with no rate vote. The futures market moved December to about 85% from 78%. Thursday carries the Q3 GDP advance (consensus 3.2%), September PCE (headline 0.5% on the month and 3.6% on the year; core 0.3% and 3.1%), claims, the ECB decision and a $44bn seven-year auction; the BoJ decides Friday.
Credit. The high-yield ETF closed 93.21 on a weekly render, flat on the day after its largest two-day rise of the leg, with the week's high at 93.43 — a thirty-fifth close under 95 and 1.79 from the line that, with the count over 50, gives the bull path its first two points. The spread series posted Tuesday's print at 3.18, twelve basis points narrower — a third consecutive narrowing, 22 basis points in two prints, 0.32 from the 3.50 line that adds two to the shock path and moving away from it; investment-grade narrowed a point to 1.12. The high-yield market absorbed $41bn of one issuer's in-quarter raises and a hawkish hold without widening; Wednesday's print posts today.
The monthly divergence. October's running bar holds a higher high than June on a monthly RSI of 68.72 against 77.88 — the gap narrowed to 9.16 from 9.91 on a third rally day, which is what three up-days do to a monthly reading and is said as such — and the bar sits 595 points under September's close, down 1.96% on the month with two sessions left, 394 over its monthly EMA-5. The one-month central range, 28,564–30,294, held an eighth session, the close 1,249 over its floor and 481 under its top. The year-end band, 27,500–29,800, has the Nasdaq-100 13 points over its top with the count over 50 — the review trigger's first close — and the S&P 44 over the top of its own. The verdict is the monthly close on Friday: a close over 31,117 with the monthly RSI over 77.88 invalidates, and it is 1,304 points and 9.16 RSI points away with two sessions left; a close under 30,408.50 makes October a down month after a record print, and the board opens the bar 900 under it.
What the Fed did, in one paragraph. It held, 10–2, and the two dissents were for a hike — Governor Cook's first since joining the Board in 2022, and Cleveland's Hammack. That is the hawkish hold the framework listed as the base case and the one the two-year had priced into Tuesday's close; what was not priced was the chair's refusal to commit to December while acknowledging the Fed has not achieved price stability. The combination — a committee leaning toward a hike and a chair declining to guide one — is what put the ten-year over 5% in the press conference and steepened the curve: the market priced the committee, not the chair. The equity market read it the other way for two hours, running the Nasdaq-100 to 29,849 while he spoke, and then the night read Alphabet.
What the night did. Alphabet reported revenue of $127.58bn (a slight miss), earnings of $2.12 a share against $3.02 expected — the gap an $8.66bn equity-stake loss — Cloud revenue of $30.7bn, up 103%, capital spending of $51.4bn in the quarter, 2026 capex held at $195–205bn with 2027 to "increase significantly", free cash flow of negative $9.07bn for a second quarter, and $41bn of equity and debt raised inside the quarter; the stock fell 8–11% after hours. Microsoft reported revenue of $92.28bn, up 19%, earnings of $4.89 against $4.73, Azure up 48% against about 44% expected, capex of $45.2bn against $50.7bn expected, and guided next quarter's Azure to 49–50%; the stock rose 2–6%. The tape paid for capex restraint and sold capex acceleration on the same night, which is the first time inside this leg the market has sorted the hyperscalers by cash flow rather than by their spending — Oracle's 11% rise on Wednesday on a $225bn revenue target and Vertiv's 17% on a raised forecast were the same trade from the supplier side. The Nasdaq-100 December future was down 1.05% at 06:43 Singapore, the S&P future down 0.42% and the Dow future flat: a tech sale, not a risk sale, and verified on two fetches two minutes apart. Amazon reports Thursday after the close; Apple on Monday.
What the framework does with it. Nothing on weight — the matrix moves on written lines and the night printed none — and three things on structure. First, the gap-through rule governs Thursday: the board sits about 42 under the first sell-stop's trigger before the open, so that structure fills at half size on the first post-10:30 close under the session's open rather than being chased at the open. Second, the 50-day fade is split: the first lid the open would be bought back to is Wednesday's pre-decision range, 29,700–29,780, with the fast stack and the filled gap inside it; the second is the open half of the chip gap, 29,849–29,979. Third, the 60 line on the count is written before it prints: 58.42 is one up-day from the binary that suspends every short, and a tape that opens down a percent and is bought back is exactly the tape that can print it.
Two lines printed, and they cancelled. The ten-year's close over 5.00 is the mirror written on 23 October — two points from the range path back to the shock path. The S&P's close over its 20-day is the range path's own line — two points from the shock path to the range path. Both are symmetric: a ten-year close back at or under 5.00 or an S&P close back under 7,734 returns its two points the other way. Everything else sat where it was: 29,813 over the re-instatement line (now 29,546) with the count at 58.42 — the rollover read stays retired; 16.91 under 17.45 but the settlement over 109.45 — half a line, no weight; 114.14 under 120; 3.18 under 3.50 and narrowing; the advance-decline line −239, not +800; the Composite 802 over its 200-day; the count between 50 and 60. The matrix is D 36 / C 30 / B 26 / A 8, unchanged — by two prints, not by none, and the framework says which.
Path D holds at 36% — modal, with its rate input back. The two points it received are the ten-year's and the two it gave are the S&P's; the net is zero and the shape is different. What D has now: a close over 5.00 that re-arms the D-fast input (a second completes it), a Fed that held with two members voting to hike and a chair who called inflation elevated, a curve steepening on a hold, a fifteenth settlement over 101 with the step $5.86 away and two prints left, a post-midterm campaign warning on the tape, a 96-hour readiness, the dollar over 102.06 a second day. What the tape says against it: the VIX under 17.45 on a close, a spread at 3.18 and narrowing, a count 1.58 from the binary, a high-yield market that absorbed $41bn of one issuer's paper. D takes two on a second consecutive ten-year close over 5.00, two on a 120 December settle through Friday, two on a spread over 3.50, two on a VIX daily close over 22.31, four on a ten-year close over 5.25 and two on a Composite close under 23,459; it gives two to the range path on a ten-year close back at or under 5.00 and two on a VIX daily close under 17.45 with the settle under 109.45 — the oil half $4.69 away.
Path C holds at 30% — retired, with the price half of its re-instatement in reach and the count half not. The re-instatement line moves up with the daily EMA-5 to 29,546, and the board at about 29,500 sits under it before the open: a daily close under 29,546 on Thursday is possible and the count under 50 — 8.42 points away — is not, so the price half can print alone and is logged without weight. What C keeps: an eleventh session of the two halves splitting with the leaders at no new highs (one net new low among the hundred a third day), the members' repair line not approached, an advance-decline line negative on an up-index day, the transports −2.5% with the industrials up, a month down 2% on a monthly reading 9.16 under June's, a twelfth close under 30,583 — and the first hyperscaler sold 8–11% on its capex guide. C re-instates, four points back and the structural re-licensed at a quarter, on a daily close under 29,546 with the count back under 50. No structural is issued.
Path B holds at 26% — with its first line printed and its second moving away. The 20-day printed; the third +800 close did not and moved 1,039 points further off on a −239 print. The range path's tape was mixed for the first time in a week: the counts and the oscillators for it, the day's own advance-decline, the transports and the equal-weight against it. B takes two from C on a third +800 close; gives two back to C on the re-instatement; gives two back to D on an S&P close under 7,734; takes two from D on a VIX close under 17.45 with the settle under 109.45.
Path A holds at 8% — the twin gate half printed a second time, the band review half printed a first. The count is over 50 a second day and 1.58 from the binary; high-yield is 1.79 from 95 and flat on the day. A takes two from C on the credit half. The year-end band review needs a second consecutive close over 29,800 with the count over 50 — Thursday's close decides, and the futures say no. "Its own seven-day plan" is a plan, not a signature.
The 50-day fade's zone printed an hour after the box shut, and the structure was not filled. Option 01 needed a post-10:30 print inside 29,807–29,979 and a rejection close back under 29,807, and was dead at 13:30 by the FOMC box whatever it was doing. From the 10:30 bar to 13:30 the index traded 29,650–29,780 and never printed the zone's floor; the first print inside it was the press-conference bar after 14:30, at 29,848.71, and the index closed 29,813 — over the floor — so there was no rejection to sell even had the box been open. No fill, no cost. The zone is split in Thursday's book: the gap-fill range 29,700–29,780 below and the open half of the chip gap 29,849–29,979 above.
The post-decision vol fade was never armed, because the spike it was written on never came. Option 06 needed a print over 18.86 inside the 14:00–16:00 session or on Thursday's open, then a Thursday close back under 18.22. The post-decision session's high was under 17.00; the spot was sold into the decision and drifted after it. The structure was written on the one print the box forbids trading, on the strength of three FOMC afternoons that each printed a spike — and the fourth did not. That is a pattern read that failed, and it is owned: the pattern is retired as a reason. The qualifier is kept as a rule for the third time, because the night that followed is the one the fade's open-as-print clause was written for — the future at 18.93 with the index future down a percent — and the clause stands for Thursday's open at a re-keyed 18.31. Nothing was forgone: a fade from 18.20 could not have filled on a day the spot never printed 18.20.
The gold long's gate turned against it; the gold short's gate turned for it, and gold's half did not print. Option 07 needed a close over 4,095 with the ten-year at or under 5.00; the ten-year closed 5.02 and gold closed 4,062.35, 33 under the trigger besides. Option 08 needed a close under 3,989 with the ten-year over 5.00; the rate half printed and gold's low was 4,025, 36 over. Neither was eligible on Wednesday by their own first-eligible-close rule; both are re-written for Thursday with the sides swapped — the short is now the live side, re-keyed up to the daily band floor at 4,006 that the statement dip stopped 29 points over. No cost.
The rest did not trigger. Option 02, the re-instatement sell-stop, was Thursday's by design and the line printed nothing on Wednesday; it is re-keyed up with the line. Option 03's trigger at 29,340 was 278 under the day's low. Option 04, the pair, needed a ratio print over 3.85 and got 3.85 — at the line, not over it; the night did the pair's work without it, which is why Thursday's issue carries a gap clause. Option 05, the doorway, got its pullback print (16.21) and never its reclaim of 17.92 — the day's high was the opening bar, before the gate, and 15 cents under the trigger; a third session keyed over the day, re-keyed down a third time.
Wednesday's map: five of five on the ranges, four of five on the close bands. The Nasdaq-100 closed 29,813.16 inside 29,428–29,875 (the high 29,849 inside the top) and outside its projected close band 29,517–29,785 by 28 — a fourth consecutive same-side close-band miss on the index, which is a bias worth naming: the no-lean rule centres the band on the last close and the index has closed in the upper third of its range four days running. A close-band miss is not a range miss, so the widening rule — written on three consecutive range misses — does not fire. The S&P closed 7,743.98 inside 7,684–7,762 and inside its close band by two; the VIX 16.91 inside 15.8–19.3; the ten-year 5.02 inside 4.88–5.12; Brent 114.14 inside 108–119. Thursday's width is Tuesday's 446 (Wednesday's true range was 230), and the board sits 90 under the range's floor before the open; the rule is written on the close and is scored as written.
Calls that resolved. "The day is decided at 16:00 against 29,413, 29,807, 7,730 and 5.00" — three of four printed: 29,807 by 6 (the band review's first close), 7,730 by 14 (B +2), 5.00 by 2bp (D +2); 29,413 did not (the low was 29,618). "The only question is whether the 50-day stack at 29,807 is tested before the box shuts" — it was not; the test came in the press conference. "The afternoon is read, not traded" — it was. "A VIX print over 18.86 arms Thursday's fade" — none came. "The matrix's next moves are B's — 7,730" — printed, and cancelled by the mirror on the same close, which the framework did not call and says so. "The three FOMC afternoons of this leg each printed a VIX spike that was sold the next morning" — the fourth did not: a miss, owned above.

Win probability is the framework's estimate that the first target prints before the stop within one day to one week, conditional on the trigger firing; it is not a backtest. It is calibrated to the scenario weights, to how each structure type has behaved across the last thirty days of issues — sell-stops paid twice under their clauses on 17 October, were armed without filling five times and refused correctly by the gap-through rule once; fades met their triggers three times this month for a scratch, an unclaimed gain and a claimed loss, were voided by rule four times, missed a rejection by seven points and on Wednesday printed their zone an hour after the box shut; the structural armed nine times, filled once and was stopped at the full stated risk; the doorway long filled cleanly on 19 October and has been keyed over the day three times since; the vol fade has been refused by its own qualifier on all three days it was issued, twice when it would have paid and once when there was nothing to pay; the gold bracket paid once (+112), was halved once by its own clause, refused three closes by its gate, one by its chase cap and one by the gate turning — and to the distance from the last price. All eight sit under 50% and carry the muted pill: lower-odds, higher-payoff structures on a morning that opens a percent under the close on one name's guide. No outright index long is issued, because nothing is signed; no S&P short, because the broad tier exited; no structural, because its licence lapsed. Three structures are unconventional: Option 04 is a rotation pair with a gap clause on the night its thesis was priced; Option 06 is the vol fade on the Alphabet open; Options 07 and 08 are the one-gate gold bracket with its sides swapped.
| # | Structure | Win prob. | Instrument | Side |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | NDX — the weekly-stack sell-stop with the gap-through rule: sell a holding close under 29,542 (the 20-week; the fresh daily EMA-5 29,546, the weekly MA20 29,550, the 100-day 29,560, the 30-minute band floor 29,593, the 69-day 29,597 and the weekly EMA-14 29,600 stacked over it) after a 29,618 print — the board is already under the trigger | ~34% | NDX (NQ / USTECH CFD) | Short (sell-stop, half size; a quarter on the gap-through) |
| 02 | NDX — the gap-fill fade: sell a rejection close back under 29,700 after a post-10:30 print inside 29,700–29,780 (Wednesday's pre-decision range, the fast stack and the filled FOMC gap inside it) — or, if the open is over 29,813, inside the open half of the chip gap 29,849–29,979 | ~30% | NDX (NQ / USTECH CFD) | Short (rejection fade, half size) |
| 03 | NDX — the re-instatement cluster sell-stop: sell a holding close under 29,427 (the 30-minute MA50; the hourly MA50 29,443, the 30-minute MA100 29,456 and the daily MA10 29,462 over it) after a 29,546 print — the board ≈75 over the trigger | ~28% | NDX (NQ / USTECH CFD) | Short (sell-stop, half size) |
| 04 | NDX:SPX — the rotation pair with a gap clause: short NDX / long SPX notional-matched on a 30-minute close of the ratio back under 3.82 after a post-10:30 print over 3.84, or at half on the first post-10:30 close under the session's open ratio if the ratio opens under 3.82 (unconventional) | ~32% | NDX:SPX ratio (NQ short / ES long, notional-matched) | Rotation pair (short NDX / long SPX) |
| 05 | VIX — the doorway re-entry over 17.42 (the 30-minute MA20) after a post-10:30 print under 17.10, re-keyed down a third time; full size to 17.70, half to 18.02, none above | ~26% | VIX (CFD, spot-referenced) | Long (convexity, tapered) |
| 06 | VIX — the post-PCE vol fade, third issue: sell a 30-minute close back under 18.07 after a post-10:30 print over 18.31 or a cash open over it — the Alphabet-open spike that fails (unconventional) | ~30% | VIX (CFD, spot-referenced) | Short (vol fade, time-boxed) |
| 07 | XAUUSD — the short on the gate, re-keyed up: sell a daily close under 4,006 (the daily band floor) only with the ten-year's daily close over 5.00 the same day; sixteenth; Thursday's close first (unconventional — the live side of the one-gate bracket) | ~24% | XAUUSD (CFD) | Short (conditional, sixteenth size) |
| 08 | XAUUSD — the continuation long, carried with its cap: buy a daily close over 4,095 only with the ten-year's daily close back at or under 5.00 the same day; cap 4,125; sixteenth; Thursday's close first | ~26% | XAUUSD (CFD) | Long (conditional, sixteenth size) |
The base case is a session inside 29,590–30,036 with a close between 29,700 and 29,925 — the no-lean range, centred on Wednesday's close at one times the wider of the last two true ranges, which is Tuesday's 446 (Wednesday's was 230). The S&P maps to 7,700–7,788 with a close of 7,716–7,772; the VIX to 15.5–18.7, the ten-year to 4.92–5.14 and the December Brent settle to 109–120. The board at 06:43 Singapore sits about 90 points under the Nasdaq-100 range's floor and the framework says so before the open rather than after it: the rule is written on the close and is scored as written, and the gap is the gap-through clause's business. The reasoning runs in four steps. The open is a percent under the close on one name's capex guide with the S&P future down less than half of that, which is the shape the tape bought back inside the first hour on 21 and 23 October — so the morning's question is whether the gap is filled into Wednesday's pre-decision range at 29,700–29,780 or whether the weekly stack at 29,542–29,600 goes on the first holding close. PCE, GDP and claims print at 08:30 and the ten-year decides the gold bracket's side and the mirror's direction before the 10:30 gate reads anything. The count is 1.58 from the binary, so a gap-down that is bought is the one tape in which every short is suspended by the close. And the afternoon is a day trade's afternoon: Amazon at 16:00 shuts every structure at 15:30 regardless. The first read is the 10:30 bar; the sequence of the day's moves is not called.
The base case is 29,427–29,979 inside 28,777–30,583 — the inner range's floor the re-instatement cluster, its top the chip gap's lid — and the week's question is whether Friday's monthly close prints under 30,408.50 with the count over 50 and the index over its 50-day, which is a down month after a record print that still carries the bull path's first two conditions and possibly a triggered band review, or whether the hyperscaler prints and the post-midterm window hand the index back the weekly stack and the cluster with the count still over 50, which is the rollover read's price half printing without its count half. The tests: 29,800 on a second consecutive close (the review), 29,849–29,979 (the chip gap's lid), 30,109 and 30,583 on the Nasdaq-100; 7,734 and the 7,745–7,763 lids on the S&P, scored not traded; the count against 60 (the binary) and 50 (the licence); the ten-year against 5.00 both ways and 4.94; the VIX against 17.45 with the settle and against 19; the spread against 3.50 on today's print; the December settle against 120 through Friday, then the January contract from Monday; the monthly close against 30,408.50 and 31,117, which is not reachable. If the index holds over 29,546 through Friday with the count over 50, the read stays retired into the midterms and the next moves are the shock path's (a second close over 5.00; the campaign window) or the bull path's (the review; the binary); if it closes under 29,546 with the count under 50, the read returns and its instrument is re-licensed at a quarter. The downside path inside the week runs 29,542, 29,427, 29,340, 29,294, 29,109, 29,012, 28,855, 28,777 and 28,641; for the S&P, 7,718, 7,698, 7,677, 7,657, 7,620, 7,612 and 7,600.5.
October holds a higher high than June on a lower monthly momentum reading, twenty sessions in, with the gap between the readings at 9.16 — narrowed from 9.91 on Wednesday's rally, as three up-days do to a monthly reading, and said as such — and the running bar 595 points under September's close with two sessions left, 394 over its monthly EMA-5. The one-month central range, 28,564–30,294, held an eighth session, the close 1,249 over its floor. The upside path needs five conditions and one has printed twice: the count over 50 (58.42, with the binary at 60 a point and a half away); the others are a signed Hormuz date, two front-month Brent settles under 101 against a settle near 114, high-yield over 95 (1.79 away) and the ten-year under 4.90 (twelve basis points away, the wrong way after Wednesday). The verdict is the monthly close on Friday: over 31,117 with the monthly RSI over 77.88 invalidates — 1,304 points and 9.16 RSI points away, not reachable; a close under 30,408.50 makes October a down month after a record print, and the board opens the bar 900 under it. From Monday the January Brent settle is the front month and the 120 step moves about $3.40 further away by arithmetic, not by price; the December meeting the futures market prices at 85% is 9 December.
Six months out the central case is a 27,000–31,600 range with downward drift while the monthly divergence resolves; the top of that range is unchanged for a fifteenth issue, and the index sits in its upper-middle after Wednesday, 2,813 over its floor, with the board re-opening it 2,500 over. Ten sessions of the two sides splitting — the chips' way up three days with the advance-decline line negative on the third — is rotation inside a range, not a resolution of it; the range path's evidence printed on its own line on Wednesday and was cancelled to the point by the shock path's, and it is said so. A Fed that held with two dissents for a hike and a chair who called inflation elevated, a ten-year back over 5% and a curve steepening on a hold cap the multiple; a count a point and a half from the binary, a spread narrowing into the hold and a high-yield market that absorbed $41bn of one issuer's paper without widening lift its floor. The AI capex cycle was priced two ways on one night — Alphabet sold 8–11% for guiding 2027 "significantly" higher with negative free cash flow, Microsoft bought 2–6% for spending $5bn less than expected with Azure up 48%: the market is beginning to sort the builders by cash flow, which is the beginning of the repricing the framework has been writing about and not yet its arrival. A Hormuz reopening remains both the largest upside input and the largest sell-the-news for the war-bid assets, gold first; a post-midterm campaign remains the largest downside input, with Tehran discussing its own seven-day plan and Washington telling the Gulf to prepare. To year-end the conditional base case stays 27,500–29,800 for the Nasdaq-100 and 7,100–7,700 for the S&P. The Nasdaq-100 closed 13 points over the top of its band with the count over 50 — the review trigger's first close — and the S&P 44 over the top of its own. The band is a framework output conditional on the divergence holding, not a forecast; it is withdrawn only if October closes over 31,117 with the monthly RSI over 77.88, and a review re-examines its arithmetic on the retired read without moving it by itself — the first close is the closest the band has been to its own re-examination since it was written, and Thursday's close decides whether there is a second.

What repaired: the count, by five to 58.42, a point and a half from the binary; the S&P over its 20-day; the Nasdaq-100 on its 50-day with the band review's first close; the Nasdaq summation's third rise, which lifted the halving rule for longs. What did not: the shock path's rate input, which came back at 5.02 on a hawkish hold and cancelled the range path's line to the point; the advance-decline line, negative on an up day; the transports, down 2.5%; and the night, which sold the largest capex budget on the tape 8–11% and put the board under the weekly stack before the open. The matrix is 36 / 30 / 26 / 8, unchanged by two prints. The tactical lines are 29,542 on the gap-through, 29,700–29,780 for the fill fade, 29,427 for the cluster, the ratio under its open, 17.42 over 17.10 and 18.07 after 18.31 for the VIX, and 4,006 or 4,095 on gold with the ten-year's side of 5.00.
